So far the F150s have been good and the 2.3 in the ranger has been good too, albeit in other vehicles, and the V6 NA in the F150 is really good too. I think Ford will be decent in the years to come, I'm weary about their "hybrid" for the new generation though. I'm coming from a mazda 3 hatch, after a Jeep. So far, there seems to be a clear nationality in the lead in terms of reliability and favorability (hint.... :1up:)

I wouldn't buy any of those drivetrains new, but a few years on...maybe.

I'm 5'10 but...slightly balding, slightly overweight, middle aged dude in jeans and a polo. I am the Tacoma's target audience. Wife is already sold on an SUV next, trying to get her on board with a 4Runner instead of a Rav4

My people! I got the jokes pretty bad when I bought my first 250, it may have gotten worse with the oil burner... :anonymous:

If they get too bad just use my approach and tell them that if they keep running their mouths you'll drag their cars away

I can say without equivocation that whatever that is, it isn't camping. Lots of good tenting to do in Maine & NH. @jethro can confirm that Black Brook Cove & South Arm Campgrounds in Western Maine have some pretty remote sites, and they're about as 'modern' as I care to get when I'm camping.

@Noelie84 is correct, there's a lot of real camping around here and those places in Lake George aren't it! Go a little further north and get into the Adirondack Park and you'll find some good spots, same with venturing across northern VT, NH and ME.

My yard lost 3 trees today, so far. Luckily they've landed in open space.

Across the street just lost a big branch. Hard to see but looks like it barely missed the house!

Branches down all over the place here in central MA, a big-ass tree in my neighbors back yard luckily didn’t damage anything. Power has been out since I walked in the door from work at 6pm. It’s just wind now but it’s ripping.

We had one in the yard, split between two new trees so that was lucky.

Lost power for about 2.5 hours.

I think a few areas near me lost power for a bit. Some of the back roads were full of debris. I was watching some decent size braches come down during my drive. Then a heavy downpour to add flooding on top of that. The 2nd half of my return trip was bright and sunny though.

The Ridgeline is a great example of that, I still ask my brother in law why he wanted a 4 foot bed since he sometimes hauls scrap. He couldn't afford the double cab Tacoma and felt like the access cab wasn't enough room for him (having had knee replacement).

Man, Rhode Islanders are bad at driving in a normal day. Put them in a hurricane and then kill the stop lights. What a mess.

Five foot bed. The first gen has the weird bed sides though. The extended cab tacoma seats go back just as far I would think though as the crew cabs. At least for the purposes of driving, maybe not for sleeping/fully reclined.

Wife messaged me we lost power at 6:30. I think they shut down our area because a huge tree knocked down a pole downtown. I have the generator going and the FiOS is up and we have our gig internet so my kid is using her IPhone and projector to watch Psych on a white sheet over the tv and a blue tooth speaker. Sooo many generators in my neighborhood. We got one after the Halloween outage (maybe sandy) where we lost power for like 5 days. It's propane and does the job. I did a complete breakdown and unboxing when I got it. Oh and I plugged my cyberpower 1500 ups into it and the gererator is putting out 120-125v @60-62.5hz pretty clean. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_aFGfo3vwB0

His is a 2015-6 I think, forget which. I could be remembering wrong and he liked the driving position overall better come to think of it.

East prov is basically half without power. I don’t think NG was expecting any of this. We didn’t even have a blip in the radar at my house fortunately.

yeah since it’s UB the pan is a lot lower. I really liked it when I test drove it. If they come out with a true hybrid I might get one eventually.

Wow it looks like national grid has a real shit storm going on here. They're not even updating statuses of assessed outages. People are getting a little irritated that they have zero information to share other than they're working on it. Just glad I have a generator...

Same thing down here. Eversource’s automated reporting system is “down”. Go figure.

And with everything so modernized, cell phone technology remote data, there's really no reason they can't at least update online maps

RI here. Our maps are up to date. They aren’t fixing anything, but the maps are accurate at least. I really don’t think national grid was expecting any of this let alone to this level. Somehow by the grace of god we didn’t lose power, it’s going to be near 90 today that would suck without the central air :( but they’re talking up to 3 days in East prov to restore power. Facebook is funny on the East prov townie pages everyone’s talking that they haven’t seen any crews out.

anyway. This has become a reminder. If we stay, definitely getting something that can at least run my fridge, heating (natural gas, fortunately not electric, but FHW so need to run the pump) or air conditioning. I think as long as I have that, we can survive.
