So the Fox fork felt nice. I can’t say I notice a performance “feeling” any more than my rockshox but that might be because my trails around here are relatively mild. I will say the compression adjustment is super smooth and I was able to play with it one handed while riding whereas I couldn’t do that as well on my old fork. Here’s the ride we did today.

    E60A6C0F-8A57-4358-AA78-7D6E0BD1A425.jpg

I have the fork set to about 95psi, for my weight, and rebound adjusted accordingly too. Here is the travel I used, biggest impact was about a 2ft huck to flat type situation.

    E08283DB-9E5C-4F60-B547-85546C057E87.jpg

I did end up moving the stem/bars down 2 spacers from the original starting point, and it felt pretty good. I’ll keep playing with that.

    couple thoughts and questions though.

a few times I was descending I felt like I was farther forward on the bike. It could’ve been my riding was poor, but something felt a little weird. Any chance this is related to the shorter offset/longer travel?

secondly, does it make any sense to think that this shock performed and felt nice enough to make me notice the back end more? I felt like I had a rougher ride on the rear than I recall, and occasionally was coming off the pedals a little and just feeling the back end was kinda bouncy. Idk could’ve been in my head I have to ride more, but it was a thought I had while riding today.

95 might be a little high based on where that ring is, for your local trails any.

Bouncy in rear? Have you got the rebound set right?(curb test)

    It says 91-106 for 210-250lbs. I’m 225lbs so I went 95.

curb test? I set the rebound based on weight too. 4 clicks from fully closed. On the rear shock I have the rebound set to about halfway between turtle and rabbit.

Fiance got this for my birthday. Super pumped. Park tool’s may be the “best” but this thing is sturdy as fuck and has a tool tray.

95 was a good start, but needs to be tweaked depending on how much travel you’re using, also may leave the pressure the same and take a token out.

Use this to set your rebound correctly. This dude is hard to understand but has a better understanding of suspension than anyone I’ve ever seen.

Also here’s an update I found on that local course being built. At least it’ll have tabletops I can maybe learn on.

You need a socket and you unscrew the hex under the top cap that you pumped the air into with the shock pump. The tokens will be threaded to the cap

I have the same one. The tool tray wasn't really all that useful for me. Didn't want to reach through the bike or go around to the other side. Couple of other quibbles with the stand but It's more than capable for the money.

Congrats! She must have bought that a couple of months ago. I’ve had one on backorder for over a month. All shops were sold out and all models and brands were back ordered due to Covid and so many taking up the sport. Still waiting for mine.
