Isaias hit my area pretty good today. While down the basement pumping out water my wife tells me that the water is getting up the sides of the truck. Ran out and moved it to higher ground.

I might be overthinking it, but are there any concerns with it sitting in water up to just below the body? Couldn’t have been in there for more than 10 minutes. Didn’t seem like there were any issues driving it.

It’s barely a month old and I’m not looking to trash it just yet. Just covering my bases. Thanks.

Should be fine unless water got into the intake but at that level I doubt it. Sucks, man glad you are okay, hopefully the basement too ;)

Drive it around the block and check all the fluids for water contamination

I'm not being sarcastic but once you get a chance, let the thing dry out, test for water contamination in the fluids, drive it around, let it sit, then do it all again.

You should be fine if that's as high as it got.

Rear diff vent was likely under water. 100% stock they are not good for very much water.

It will be fine, water level doesn't seem high enough to hurt anything considering the short time.

Check your fluids when its dry, if it was me, i'd likely be draining and refilling the rear diff fluid

Yeah, it’s stock. I’ll have to check the diff, that was my main concern. Thanks.

If the water level didn't get any higher, you should be ok..

It's totaled. Consider it a flooded vehicle, with electrical gremlins and rust throughout the rest of its life.

Best to sell it to Carvana, get most of your money back, and purchase a new Tacoma.

Please know what you are talking about before you type. It was cold so there is zero problem with water ingestion into diff.
OP, only issue is water in bearings. You should be fine.

Trucks fine. Post pictures of your basement flooding. Curious to see how you’re handling that. Goodluck

Looks like your fuel pump controller was submerged as it’s mounted on the inside of the frame rail between the transfer case and gas tank.

If the engine starts I'd say it's fine, if that's as high as it got. Can always open an insurance claim and see what they say - might get a new truck out of it

Why. It was cold. No water ingestion because of heat. This is off road 101, not masters 400 level.

OP, my rule is top of tires cold. If you keep it below top of tires and the diffs are cold, no worries. If diffs are hot and up to axle, drain diffs and refill asap.

Let the dealer look at it , insurance should cover if they find something .

There was a poster on here that his actuator took on water and they said he was in to deep of water . Warranty wouldn't cover it and it was pricey .
