I think i figured out why. To get cap height down lower. If it came out sideways the neck would be taller.

Yes I think the price is fairly reasonable. For me I already had a pre-gen (sr-5), a 1st gen a 2nd gen and a 3rd gen. I am handicapped and need automatic but think my next purchase is going to be a low mileage FJ. That truck is very tempting. I bet it goes quick. There was a 2006 with only 60k miles on CL yesterday. It sold very quick.

    Hose running from drain.jpg

Follow up...why didn’t I do this a long time ago?? Works like a champ. I don’t think I ever noticed water coming from the evaporator because it was draining on the frame and pooling on the back skid plate. Now, everywhere I go, I see where it’s marking its territory.

    92ACDB51-4383-44DC-96A7-2AE4C89CBF7D.jpg

Was getting concerned about the hose being so close to the exhaust so I ordered a roll of heat shield sleeving and heat reflective tape.
The sleeving can be cut to length and is very flexible.

    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

If you decide what you're going to add in the expos, I'd be really interested in what you come up with.

I'd like to stiffen mine up a bit as well. Also, you're not far. If you need leafs to experiment with... well... I have a couple sets.

(take offs from some of the mod day lifts we've done here. 1st, 2nd and 3rd gen... I got em all)

Ooh you're collection is way better than mine, we should definitely do some experimenting. I started researching Leaf load design and fell down a rabbit hole. I want to put a little more thought into it rather than just throwing leafs at it and see what it does. I'm going to stop at the scales when I'm fully loaded for camp this week and get a rough estimation of my peak rear axle load weight. Might make for a good DIY thread once I gather more information.

Cut it at an angle on the back. That way it will draw water out better.

Good call but, don't have one. It runs up a hose to a small filter.

So you just completely pulled the metal part of the drain out from the outside? Mine keeps clogging even though I just recently cleaned and rebuilt it last year so I can only think it's coming from the outside so I'll likely do this soon. Usually I just take a zip tie and poke it and a cup of water pours out.
