New Toyo Open Country A/T III tire

Yeah it has just rained yesterday so there was a small layer of wet mud and then the slick clay underneath. I didn’t stand a chance haha. Beasley Knob has some intense trails though

 

Went to fort fisher beach Sunday, super soft sand, aired down to 20 psi and cruised right along. These tires are awesome and I'm so glad I got rid of the mud tires

Just swapped my stocks that came on my 18 TRD Off Road on 33 Trail Grapplers for these. I believe they are oem wheels but may be replicas im not 100%. they are 17” on the Toyo AT3s 285/70/17. Not as aggressive look as the nittos no doubt but still super clean and I feel like I’m driving on a cloud. These things ride so smooth, so quiet. I had the Toyo AT on my gen 2 taco a few years back and I remember how great they rode. My nittos were quite worn and lasted 50k miles but man what a difference these make in the ride. Anyone know which wheels these are? I got them from Tire Depot south of Dallas TX. I love them so far. I havent seen another set in person. What yall think?

 

Those are replicas of the 2020 TRD Pro wheel in a 17" instead of 16". I have the same in a gunmetal finish.

 

New kicks! Wanted something with a little more aggressive tread. Went with p-metric as I did not want the extra weight and don't do any extreme off-road. Very quiet ride. Will see how the mileage is this week.

 

What kind of step bars are you running in this photo Scott?

Was turned to these by my local tire shop when I was pricing for KO2s. I am thinking of pulling the trigger on these soon. Thanks everyone for the input.

Does anyone know the main difference between these and the RT?

 

285/70/R17 Toyo AT III's

I recently added the Rough Country Speedometer Calibrator. Suspension needs one more round of adjustment...

 

LT or SL?

 

I'm guessing they are SL, they look much less aggressive on the sidewall than my LTs. Is that right @RyanDCLB

 

They're LT!

These LT tires have one sidewall tread that is a more aggressive than the other sidewall, and mine have the aggressive side out. The tire shop said the sidewall with the DOT symbol is the one with more tread on it. Maybe someone else with LT can confirm?

 

Mine too, yours just don’t look as aggressive. But maybe it’s just the photo?

 

How is everyone's noise level? Got maybe 80 miles on mine and just wondering, I went from a HT tire straight to mud and now these. I would love them even if they were louder.

 

I find that they are quieter than the Goodyear Wranglers. Really like the looks and ride so far. Will take them on a little 800mi excursion next week...we will see.

 

I think that these step bars are from Toyota. They were are the truck when I bought it. Thought about removing but they do provide some protection and occasionally I need a step.

 

P rated has more siping than LT rated does.
P rated has thinner sidewalls, thus the rubber doesn't stick out as much making it look less "aggressive" but the design is exactly the same.
Only difference between "aggressive" and "non aggressive" sides of sidewalls is an extra line down the middle on the "aggressive" side.
Tread blocks look more substantial/beefy on the LT than they do on the P rated.

Would the extra siping on the P's mean better winter traction over LT's?

 

Yeah larger blocks on the LTs. The aggressive vs less aggressive sides are kinda hard to tell apart, even in person, there is that line, but I think they may stick out just a little more as well.

 

265/60/R18 on a stock limited. Way smoother than I imagined.

I have been running these since June and have put about 1k on them. Mostly all highway miles and I’d say noise level is pretty minimal overall. I’m really happy with these tires so far.
