Scraped up enough to buy a low end head unit from Crutchfield. Since I'm half deaf already I'm not real worried about audiophile quality, but I want the IPod connection. I'm looking at the Pioneer DEH3200UB and would appreciate input without going over that price.
I'll be installing myself so any heads ups are appreciated too. Thanks.

As Dean said, Crutchfield sends you everything you need even I could do it lol

I found the hardest part was taking off the HVAC controls from the stock head unit.
There are good tips in the audio section even a DIY pictorial done by one of the members.
I bought the Kenwood KDC MP345U that had a usb, aux and ipod controls built in.
Total price was $109 shipped w/fit kit and harness.
Suggest googling crutchfield coupon, there is always a $20 off code.
I posted one in the deals & coupons section but might be expired now but Google is how I found it to begin with.

Spend a good 45 minutes on that part, no kidding. If i remember correctly, there's 2 parts.

    1) is the plastic bracket holding the control piece, and small part of it sticks on the head unit very tight. The 2nd (2) being the control unit. To remove the control unit, pull the top, both (1&2) half way out then push the control unit from front. It should be out. :) The bracket suppose to stay in.

Installed the Pioneer 3200 from Crutchfield yesterday, and am very happy with the results. I can finally get the IPod to play through the stereo with no loss in audio quality, and the stock speakers sound clearer. It was a pretty easy install, even with soldered and shrink tubed joints, and the instructions were crystal clear.

Makes me sick to think I wasted the $150 at Best Buy for the POS aux input - and when I complained about the quality, I was told "they all sound like that... no deal". Damned thing had to max out the volume to be heard, and their install keeps blowing my lighter fuse.
