I hear that. That is supposed to be a really painful recovery process. One of my friends had rotator cuff surgery and the recovery was so painful he said he wouldn't likely do it again. This same guy also had two hip replacements prior to the age of 50. That would worry me... I have never heard of someone having a hip replacement, let alone two, that young outside of an injury. This was just degenerative

One of my rotator cuffs is screwed up, but not so much I need surgery... hopefully ever.
I have some shoulder and knee damage from riding/racing motocross and desert when I was younger. Stuff hurts when it gets cold; that happens.
Under stupid, I once took a fall when my wife and I were taking a walk that screwed up my left arm for a year. I caught a foot on one of these river rock fills our city uses in some of the parkways. It happened fast and I ended up jackhammering my arm when I hit the ground. I hit with the arm straight out, palm flat. It hyper-extended my elbow and rammed into my shoulder. I felt pretty stupid, especially when some other guy tried to help me up and asked if I needed paramedics. I ended up at the hospital later that night because my shoulder swelled up and it hurt so bad I though I had broken a bone. No break, but I could hardly use the arm for a year there was so much pain running through it.

My husband has had both shoulders and one hip operated on (martial arts/contruction/flying injuries). Hes the one that convinced me to get mine fixed after 14 years living with it randomly dislocating multiple times per week after my initial injury and being in pain daily. 4 bone anchors, 180 degrees of my labrum torn off the bone, torn bicep tendon, and needed bone shaved off. Almost a year of PT for mine because of how extensive the damage and repairs were (and how long I waited to fix)
If youre in pain or limited, for the love of god get it fixed. But that said, I crashed my glider a month after I was cleared and tore one of my bone anchors. Need surgery again, not doing it until I cant lift my arm anymore.

While trying to pop out my start button from the panel to do the blackout swap I thought use my chin to push it since my hands are pulling the tabs apart. And I cut lip on the side and a slight fat lip for a week.

I haven't received any from working on my truck (yet). I have been working on cars (professionally) for years and lost count of how many stitches I have in my hands.
I also dropped a fuel tank on my foot and broke my big toe.

Nope. I've never worn steel toe while working on cars. The way the tank fell, I don't think it would've helped.

My worst injury from working on vehicles is my rotator cuff. I was replacing lower ball joints on my wife's old Honda. LCAs were so greasy and dirty that I didn't see a snap ring when pressing out the old ball joint. Without a real impact I muscled through it with a rented press and breaker bar. I sheared through the snap ring and got the job done but my right shoulder has never been the same even after 7 years.

I wasn’t working on my tacoma, but I was getting inside it (gigidy) and my left thigh caught the bottom corner of the door and left a big bruise. It hurt a little bit. It looked pretty bad ass. My mom looked worried when I showed her.

I’m unscathed from Tacoma work but working on the old timer kicked the crap out of me on numerous occasions.8B91C360-A7B5-4A18-91EC-1847806C2BF4.jpg

You should have seen me and the kid bench press an SM 465 trans into the bellhousing.

I don't have any scars working on my truck, but I can't tell you how many times, like a moron, I've closed the door on my head while getting in ON ALL OF MY VEHICLES.

Lots of injuries over the years, but I don't take pictures of them. Worst was a bone bruise from the plow frame on my old work truck when I was pulling the harmonic balancer. Wrench slipped while I was going full pull with both hands on it & I ran my thumb into the frame so hard that I swore I'd broken it. I was wearing gloves, but the resulting pressure cut bled like a MoFo, was swollen for 2 days and then I had a lump on the bone for close to 6 months after the fact.
But, since I don't generally photograph my injuries I've got no proof. :notsure:

Second worst was a similar scenario but with my '69 Dodge. I was working on the front suspension & brake system and had the same thing happen, but this time I wasn't wearing gloves. Photo is from a couple of hours later, once the bleeding had stopped and I was able to clean it out in good shape. Sent a photo to my doc buddy to ruin his dinner and see if he'd recommend anything special for treatment besides Vitamin E & a clean bandage.

    WAY TOO MANY
I have done that countless times for 2 reasons
1- I am too impatient for the disc to stop spinning to turn the guard.
2- Because I am too stupid to learn from my mistakes and continue to rotate guard while still spinning :anonymous:
