what size wheel and tire?

 

not sure what size they are, but the wheels are gay. the tires are sick tho

 

I won't comment on the sexual preferences of those wheels, but I know the type of person that does low pros on a raised truck.

But seriously. Low profile tires on a 4x4 or wannabe. Do they actually have a purpose or is it a confused cowboy thing? Saw fast and furious but still has to drive a truck? I get it, but am I on target?

Seriously. those tires mean nothing for performance in any situation right?

Ok, seriously I don't like this setup at all. My guess is the rimes are 17 or even 18". The tires, who knows.

Maybe on a city/street ride it would look decent? Now I have to get this sick image out of my mind.

I'll never understand low profile rims on an off road truck. Makes not sense but if he likes it then that's his business.

 

well its obviously not an off road truck, well anymore than my wife's scion is an off road car anyway.
Have you ever seen a bro off road his truck? No.. at best he used it to get his "monster edition" kawasaki to the dunes for some sick air... etc. WHich is fine, but they actually lift the trucks making them that much more unsafe and gaudy/garish. ANd you can see their stupid nautical star tatoos from farther away while they troll the mall parking lot.

The size of those doesn't matter, don't do it. 18" is the biggest you want, those are probably 22". The tires are toyo open country m/t, probably 35's. Good tires but they will ride like shit with rubberband sidewalls.

I think it's stupid looking, and pointless. Just a show truck, that's prob the only time that trucks been off the road IMO. To each his own...

 

I think it looks awesome! I don't get where some people say its a "bro" truck just because it has bigger rims/ lower profile tires than YOU like. It seems that most on this Forum think that just because you have a Tacoma- it should be lifted with wicked mud tires and spend most its life crawling over rocks & playing in mud. If that's the reason you have yours then great. Every lifted truck does not have to be done just for wheeling.

That's the beauty of Customizing YOUR ride- making it what you want it to be. It is sad when so many people here ask "what wheels for my truck" like they need everyone to OK their decision to fit in without being insulted if they get something different than the same wheels 6000 other people here have. Some people here are just single minded and think that every Tacoma made should be used for wheeling.

I bought my Taco because it is my daily driver and I use a truck to haul my 4 wheelers- motorcycle- lumber- other misc crap from time to time. I have a family so needed something with room and 4 real doors- but not the crappy turning radius of a Full Size 4 door truck. The Taco fit my needs but is pretty boring in stock form. I'm planning to lift mine 3" and change the wheels/tires. Will I ever take it off-road? Likely not. I have done plenty of wheeling in the past and just don't care to spend the countless hours cleaning mud off it or beating it up going over rocks. When done U can call it a "Mall Cruiser" all you want or a "Bro" truck but its not either one. It will be how I enjoy it- and that's how most others build theirs as well. Just stupid to Insult others because their taste differs from yours.

OP- It's a great looking truck. Not the best set up for wheeling/mudding but don't fall into the mind set that you have to use a lifted Tacoma that way.
