Going to put my dt headers on today and just wondering what high temp gasket sealer you all recommend to use, and after it's installed how long should i wait for it to set up before starting engine.

5 hours later got them in and drivers side what a bitch. Nice lovely scratches on that side header. Haven't started her yet as i'm waiting for the permatex copper sealant to dry. If any of you used it how long did you wait until cranking your engine up.

Honestly, did you all actually torque all the header bolts down. I just guestimated the required 16 lb torque. This was more frustrating than putting in the cam gears for my x-1.

It's probably been 2 hours since everythings been bolted back.
So please, if anyone can give me a recommendation on how soon i should start my truck (frickin suspense) or should I smoke a fatty and wait until tomorow - Maui style baby............................

I love them! worth the pain in the ass install. nice rumble at startup, deeper louder tone with my mbrp exhaust. Nice punch and quicker response when pulling on to highway. Just gotta go do some redline runs to get the x-1 calibrated.

I was told that with the x-1 i don't need the o2 sim, but my check engine light came on with code P0113. I cleared it with my scanguage, but can anyone elaborate if the x1 should keep the CEL light off?

This is what the code means:

P0113 Intake Air Temperature Circuit High Input

Check if any wires came loose. Also check your X-1 make sure it is seated to the ECU correctly.

Now as far as CEL w/X-1, it will not allow a code to be thrown if you are running this MAP:

    Tta40.03A.F_295.zip w/the 3 after the F
F3= APR hot calibration for vehicles without front catalytic converters.

    Good luck...

Ok this is getting interesting. I've had the x1 for a year and had it mapped from urd with a K/n cai, and mbrp exhaust. I haven't downloaded xtune yet, but that file you sent me can i copy that to the usb flash drive then connect the flash drive to x1 usb to install map. I am going to download xtune now to my desktop and if you have time to tell me the steps to change maps that would be awesom. I would even paypal you something for your time.

    Thanks,
    Rod

LOL, no need for Paypal, thats what we are all here for. However I have never messed with the thumb drive. I download the Xtunes to my laptop. Save the file in your xtune software. You hook up to the X-1 via USB Cable.

Here are some instructions from Scott at APR:

    Instructions:
    1. XTune not running.
    2. If you have the latest XTune.03A goto 3, otherwise
    a. Download latest XTune.03A from our website (http://www.aprpower.com/maps/XTuneInstaller.03A.zip).
    b. Use Control Panel to uninstall your current XTune
    c. Run XTune.03a setup.exe
    3. Use Windows Explorer to create a new folder under “Documents\Apr\AprCal\Tta40.03A” this will be next to your Tta40.02 folder
    4. Extract and unzip the attached new calibration into this new folder
    5. Connect your X1, engine-on, key-off
    6. Wait for timer to start counting, then drag and drop the new Tta40.03A.F3V_295.01 under the Tta40.03A node and drop it onto your X1 node located under XPorts.
    7. Progress bar will go to 100% and timer will start counting again
    8. Ready to go

Here is Scott's email: Scott@AprPower.com He is very helpful

    There is also Gadget: info@urdusa.com

If you dont have a Laptop, they will let you know your options. But the instructions above helped me. Just make sure you have correct MAP. The MAP in the instructions was for my Volant intake setup.

I've got a long nite shopping for a laptop now. The lap top will be filed under "Tacoma Mods" :). On an end note, i should be able to load a map to the thumb drive from my desktop then insert in to the x1 right? I'll try and call scott at apr tomorow. Much Mahalo

Ok, I downloaded the updated xtune.03A to my desktop. Downloaded and unzipped your calibration file to to APR\APR CAL\Tta40 file. I then renamed your calibration file as "X1.Tta40.03A.F3_295.01AprCal".

Put in my APR thumb drive to my desktop usb port and moved the above calibration file to it. So now I have the new calibration file on the thumb drive.

So looking at the confusing xtune users manual I can now go to my truck turn ignition key to "on" position, insert usb flash drive to x1 usb port, and per instructions, "the X-One will flash the factory Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) a calibratable number of times based upon the user settable tuning parameter "Config/CallD" in the map." So it will blink a few times and map is loaded and ready to start her up.

Am I on the right track guys.

So i spoke with Allan this morning and i got the usb flash set. Flashed my truck and got one flash from CEL to show it loaded. Per Allan I should of got 3 flashes. I left him a message about this, but truck is running awesome and no codes yet.

I know you all probably load maps with your labtop so you don't pay attention to the CEL light blinking, but if yours does blink did it do it 3 times to show map was loaded.

Lastly, i retorqued header bolts today after only 20 miles of driving and a few of them had loosened about a quarter of a turn. Still overall the headers are an awesome upgrade.

I am researching the apr X1 as a friend knows a friend who got one and seems to like it. Heard it is hard to install though. Who are these guys? Is this thing really worth the cash? It seems it is a new company so there are not many folks who have bought this and before I make the investment I want to be sure of what I am getting. How many have they really sold? Anyone ever return one? I read they were sold out and my friend says they are hard to get.
