You bet, time is value. Keep putting money to work. The further you zoom out the less important all the dips seem

 

This is the only way I have found to make a lot of money without being a slave for it. You can make a lot as a doctor, but you've got to trade your time for it. If you stop, how will you pay the bills? With dividends, it's a slow process, but once it starts snowballing, you keep working and keep investing, and your income only goes up. It's the only way I have figured out to do this.

 

I do screen shots on a windows 10 machine.

Find a source you like. Yahoo Finance, Google Finance, Market Watch or similar via a internet search. Find the charts with the info you want and copy it and paste it to this thread.

Earnings for FRT don’t look like they could have missed any worse. It will take that company years to get back over $100.

 

And to think, just 2 months back they were there.

 

There a comment on SA of a dividend raise, $0.04 a year. I don’t know if it’s legit yet.

Edit: They increased the annual dividend from $4.20 to $4.24.

 

I’m debating. I’ve gotten way more into investing this year so I’ll probably keep using them this year. And next year we’re likely to sell our house. So I’ll probably keep it up with that.

but once we move and we’re renting, and it’s just us, two normal cars, and a dog. I am likely to take it back over myself.

hey I wanted to ask you actually, by percentage do you know what you're getting in dividends each year? I know your strategy and am wondering how much more you’re getting vs some index funds instead. If it’s worth it to try to take it on myself or pick a few dividend driven ETFs or similar instead and consider it a cost of not spending more time, for the time being etc. I’m eyeing sphd which is about 6% long term, as a comparison.

 

I’m just over 4%. I do it for the dividend growth, I would have averaged a little over 8% growth per year (average over last 5 years). I think SPHD has good CAGR though so it shouldn’t be different, I have about 16% of my portfolio in SPHD now.

 

I’m just shy of 8 months and have seen 10% gain in my portfolio and the shares that pay dividends have paid a total of just under $8 this quarter which is approximately .4% of my total investment, keeping in mind that Boeing and Ford are withholding dividends and together they’re about 32% of my portfolio.

I’m excited to see it grow and wither over the years to come and see what happens with it.

Didn’t give very positive outlook. Guidance was basically don’t expect much until late 2021

Might get a chance to close my SLV Jan 15 2021 30 Call today at a nice gain...the shares are up 7% from yesterday's buy price...
