I'd hunt for a V8 Raptor, definitely for the SVT. Though very likely they're coveted and don't come up for sale often, or for an affordable price considering age/mileage.

They're out there, just all run into the ground by now. And they get 12 mpgs. The Gen 2 is my favorite body style of F150 *ever* so it was an easy choice. I'll take the snails. All the V8 really has over it is sound and like (very) top end, which you never use any of anyway. Plus, don't forget I had a GTI before my Taco. I'm a sucker for a good whooooosh

Wouldnt be clean. The intercooler is fucking massive. Sub'd though, if nothing else for taking this engine off of the 10-speed and mating it up to a Toyota transmission. ECU would probably shit the bed lol

Agree with the body style changes. The newer Raptor does look better, I just enjoyed the idea of a supercharged V8 in a go fast truck setup.
Wonder what the weight difference is between the boosted 8 and the twin boosted 6.

I'm gonna need a 5 minute sesh of boosted funzies!

Start getting me first and last names please. And expected arrival day. I'll begin the list to send to the owner so they'll know who's in the group or not.
Send me a PM, unless you just want the world to know who you are. :)

@Beaner Taco and @wink4x4 @Rostig_Klapperkiste just pinging you guys...

The first Raptor wasn't supercharged unless you paid Roush to do it. However, the Gen 3 raptor coming soon to an impound lot near you is supposed to use the new GT500 engine, which is supercharged and is an absolute monster.

I haven't checked numbers but I figure Gen 2 is significantly lighter than Gen 1 because less steel under the hood but also Ford switched to aluminum body after gen 1

It also just occurred to me that its kind of cool, that after gen 3 if the rumors are true, you'll have 1 vehicle that you have the option of whatever aspiration you want in. Get a Gen 1 for N/A, Gen 2 for TT, Gen 3 for SC. Kind of cool. Applies to various Mustangs as well, but you can't get a great turbo engine in those. I was thinking the other day that if they put my trucks engine into a mustang, it would be a wonderful '90% car'.

Also I will probably be pretty amicable to anyone that wants to go rip it around the gravel areas at Rush. Just don't really want to jump it as the only jumps they have that I'm aware of are like 50ft motocross ramps lol

I thought there were 2 Raptors in the first gen? NA and SC?
The future of that truck line is looking good then! All the go fast things!

I know at least one trim level of a Stang has the ecoboost motor, think it's the base and 4 cyl. Imagine Ford is claiming GT500 possibility to keep pace with the Hellcat rumor of the Rebel TRX.

There were 2 different V8s, both NA, and the SVT version was just a tuned up version of the 6.2 with more power, etc.

I've driven the 4cylinder turbo Mustang and its not terrible. But it's also not a 450hp 6 cylinder either.

And here I was living a lie, thinking the SVT had forced induction...

Again, you could pay Roush or Hennesey (if you've heard of the Velociraptor- this is them) to bolt a supercharger on it. But it didn't have one from the factory.

I'd always thought it was a factory option. But yes, definitely heard of the Velociraptor.

This means you're considering the 6 wheel upgrade, right?
