    @Kwikvette

I got so much shit about buying a Panhard correction bracket on the 100 series Facebook group that I just said "fuck it" and deleted the post. Oh, but an adjustable bar is the greatest thing since sliced bread. They are newly offered by DeltaVS for 100s. Not many people have one. One guy who SASed his 100 on Mud made his own.

It's a well understood and common mod for lifted 3rd gen 4Runners.

I think @Timmah! does a good job of explaining the benefits in his video.

So the accident I got in over the weekend is win/ loss situation. Body shop said because of the age and miles the truck may be counted as totaled. Depending on repair price and what insurance thinks. That's the loss, the win is I can get out of my loan. I'm dropping it off today so we shall see what the verdict is. Looking for new vehichle in case the worst happens

Group mentality, unwilling to accept change for something better.

I'll be doing the same bracket as you when I do the lift on the 4R. That eimkeith dude makes some really nice stuff from what I have seen.

If I don't make my own I'll probably buy the eimkeith kit cause the price is right.

For sure.. One thing I learned some years ago about custom suspensions is it takes, time, patience, and willingness to try different things to really get the most out of a suspension -- especially when it is not on a commodity vehicle. DeltsVS was really my only option for the 100 series for something pre-made.

Now the quality of that part is like something for the military, industrial, or otherworldly use. No regrets and I know it will take some trial and adjustment to get the most out of it.

I'm stuck between 2005 v8 4runner or a 2nd gen. I found a 1st gen w/ SC but too much. Not going to make the mistake of not getting 4WD this time :p

The dropped mounts like you picked up weren't around back when I was doing the 100s suspensions. Only the whole new rod with an adjustable end. So that was kinda the only option. And I think anything with the words 'dropped mount' or similar is an instant turn off in the minds of the uneducated, like mine before I learned it might even be better to lower the mounts. Apparently the more horizontal you can get it, the better it is. I had no idea about that principle of the geometry of the suspension. So anyway, the herd mentality of 'our way is the only right way' exists here as well. When the group starts acting like that is when people stop sharing their ideas and experiences because it's not worth dealing with the BS. And I'm not saying this cause you don't know this, I'm just saying I can see exactly what you're dealing with on that BS end of it?
So it sucks.... but I for one am anxious to see what you think of that beautiful piece of bracketry :D

Angle relative to the drag link is evreything for a panhard bar! Hence the adjustable and drop mounts!

Got a verbal job offer today, negotiation time!

Yeah man in the cruiser world there isn't much actual 'modification' done to suspension systems. Simply bolting on simple lift kits made 28 year old me feel like the freaking man:anonymous:
I never learned much about the geometry end of suspensions. That's been one thing I've been fascinated reading about in other threads here where folks are 'discussing' their thoughts and experiences and stuff.

On the pay, YOU know what you'll be okay with and not. It's definitely not the TOP factor in my decision making, but you know where it lies in your priority list(and your wife's:Dill bet it's the top of her list for YOUR jobs:rofl:) so stay true to YOUR priorities and you will be a happy mofo:cool::D
(got my dad speech out of the way early today:oops::rofl:)

I'm genuinely surprised you got so much shit for it or that they were so against it. The logic is so simple

I can immediately think of an analogy that applies here -

In marksmanship, the first thing you need to establish is a natural point of aim, whether it's sitting, kneeling, standing, or in the prone position.

Some people get into position, only to be aiming offset, to their intended target.

The majority, unfortunately, twist and force themselves to aim at the target and shoot. This is wrong as you want your body as close to its natural resting position as possible.

The solution is simply picking up your body, and relocating yourself to have as close of a natural point of aim to the target as possible.

That's exactly what the panhard correction kit does :burp:
