Recommendations for Oil Filter for 2.7L 2020?

I am planning on changing my oil soon on my new 2020 Tacoma. This will be my first time changing the oil on it and not 100% sure which one to use. Anyone have any recommendations on which oil filter I should use? Thanks

 

I use the Mobile 1

0W20 oil and the Mobile one filter. And while at Walmart to get these they also have the cabin filters. This is for the 3.5 though not the 2.7L

 

I use the OEM Toyota filter

90430-12031, oil drain gaskets. A 10 pack is $15 give or take. I get my oil from Advance Auto, Mobil 1 0/20w. I don't know if you have them near you but if you order online and pick up at the store you will usually get 20% off, sometimes 25%. They had a special on the qt size buy one get one half price awhile back. I usually buy the 5 qt jug and use the singles to top off. My local store also takes old oil.

 

I buy the OEM filter on Ebay one at a time because I change my oil once a year and I might die before I used up a case of 10. I also bought a pack of the blue crush washers in case the Ebay seller sends me a filter without the crush washer.

Advanced Auto Parts has a hell of a discount on 0W-20 Shell Rotella right now. I use it in my truck. Stock up while you can!

I recommend AMSOIL for oil and WIX for filters. Lots of good videos on whats is best but I tend to overthink & over index on engineering of things. (Go watch Project Farm on Youtube) I also recently changed my oil and used the

Are those spin on oil filters? Do the 3rd gens take spin on? I'm really not sure that's why I'm asking.

 

You are in for a treat! (evil grin) No spin on here and that is why I recommend to people the kit. You have to plunger the filter housing, drain the oil then remove a oil filter housing, change o-rings, etc. It's easy, but not your old method.

Ohhh okay, that makes more sense. I was wondering why the spin on filters kept saying they fit my taco, but when I checked youtube they were completely different types of filters. Thanks, this was the answer I was looking for.
