Hey Mat, just had a long enough road trip to really enjoy the final tune. With the new options of having the ability to select different size tires, I noticed that the new tune has her being able to pull forward while idling again. Shifts points are where they should be. Improved my MPG as well from EROM. Have loved the tune since buying it years ago. Thanks for your hard work.

On a side note, I paid a deposit to get the vfTuner earlier while sending my old dongle back to you. I see that it's arrived at your shop 3 weeks ago and Rafael has told me he nudged you to let you know it has arrived. Could you please refund me the deposit when you have a moment as it's still pending. Request # is 17983. Thanks again.

Hey guys would appreciate some thoughts and feedback here. Have posted about this before but really need to do something.

2.0 is real bad on my truck. Have a 17 with the tsb from Toyota. Truck pings all the time. Especially with downshift. Running the regular 2.0 87 tune. Stumbles around below 1500 Rpm. Downshifts to 3rd where it never did before. The only good thing is that it is getting great mileage. Over 20 all the time everywhere. But the pinging can’t be good and I know will eventually damage engine.

    thoughts?

To clarify, question about the upcoming version. Will the new version in the works be one of the following? Just curious how it works:

    1. 2.0 Base updated, then allows you to switch maps for Performance or Towing
    2. 2.0 Performance base, then ALSO allow you to switch to MORE performance & towing map via ECT

Because with 1.05, there was a base and performance version, so I just wanted to fully understand this.

2.0 is premium & stock, no performance mode like 1.05 had. From what I understand he's(don't know when) going to add gear lock(S mode) and
a performance option(that you'd map switch with the ECT button.)

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
I dont think I've read about this before. Have you tried reinstalling? Also, any chance you installed 91 by accident and running 87 oct? Just throwing ideas out there. Hope you get it resolved.

Did you flash, then start the truck for a bit, turn truck off and then reset LV and AT? I sort of had the same issue when i first flashed 2.0. When i flashed i didnt start the truck up after flash and just immediately reset LV and AT and truck drove like crap. When i flashed the second time i started the truck up for a few seconds, turned it off, then reset the values. Truck drove great.

It's hard to know exactly. From what I've noticed with recent releases, there tends to be a lot of vague speculation from the community with a few confirmed specifics by OVTune. Ultimately though, we're never sure what's going to happen until the update is actually released. For example, thx or "enhanced throttle". Nobody saw that coming.

OVTune has confirmed that there will be a future release with gearlock and performance, but nobody knows what that will look like in a real world setting though. Just gonna have to keep waiting and find out I guess.

Little of this, little of that.
Anyone know how long it takes to get an email about getting all the info exchanged and downloading the program? I know it's going to take a little bit to get the flash cable but I wanna start poking around in the program and seeing how I want to set up stuff. I made the order earlier this week.

You can download the program but you need the cable to get your truck id. Then exchange that for a key.

I’m going to try this as well as I did the exact same thing. I find my truck not holding speed very easy around 85km/h and still bogs a bit.

why do people keep saying THX files came out of nowhere and no one saw it coming? He's released beta files with the THX modifier since last year at least. No one asked what it meant  Then again, to your other point, OV never told anyone specifically what THX was on those files either, it was just kinda there in the filename and maybe everyone (like myself) thought he was saying thanks for testing the file?
but THX has been with us for awhile now

I'm a big fan of the "thx" option. Looking forward to release with Map switching and thx for 04B04, 4.88, regular, stock. That will be the ultimate for my use.

Interesting. I'm either too late or too early to the party. I didn't have access to any "10867" versions. If those were super early 2.0 betas, then they were no longer available by the time I bought OVTune in January 2020. Later in 2020, there were also several different 2016-2017 ecu iterations of 2.0 that the rest of us didn't have access to. Either way, what you said still confirms the spirit of my last comment. We're just not sure what a new tune is going to do or how it's going to function until it's actually released.

As indicated by the folder name I have the files stored under, these were the 2.0 "First Public Beta" release. IIRC, those initial beta releases were only made for the 04B04 ECU (2016 and 2017 Tacomas). I started saving a pdf of the "release page" (TW post or OVTune web page), but I didn't start doing that until the second beta release.
