Should I have been trolling jewelry stores in my 20's? Never even thought about that...

:p I was just laughing at "dated while I was single" vs "Dated when I was not single" BUT I think in my own head I misread things and now the reason I laughed isn't there. Shit man, I've been at work since 6 this morning recovering after 4 weeks out, it's been a long day - sorry.

E: TMUS killing it after hours though. Took over #2 from T  that is way better than I thought they'd do.

When I was single and dating, I considered myself still single. And able to date more. I had a lot of fun in those days, and got into a lot of trouble. I think you know what I mean.

If you do end up doing something with beef - be aware they make powdered Worcestershire sauce. Fantastic component in a rub.

I'm not worried. They missed by a mile on EPS but beat on revenue. With the way this earnings season is going they should be up 10% tomorrow. lol

:spy: I see nothing I hear nothing.

Hmmmmmmmmm. Might give it a whirl. I rarely do red meats, pretty much corned beef OR brisket from Brown's BBQ in Austin, that's the good stuff :hungry::hungry::hungry:

Also my entire end of day strategy, PLUS NRGU strategy, was based on that today would be a down day since it's Friday.

I don't understand UBER. They're losing money. I have read that they don't have a clear path to profitability. What is the point of that business even existing? Who is gong to subsidize it? It makes no sense.

Wife sent me to BBQ school a few years ago, run by a "local legend" former competition cook and current restaurateur. Can't remember the last time we've bought BBQ. I always cook extra, vacuum seal & freeze weeknight portions. She says it's the gift that keeps on giving (h/t Christmas Vacation)

Yes, I'm aware of the smoking thread. Just so many hours in a day tho.

    Today's Friday???

Yeah so far after hours they're only down the amount they went up today give or take a few cents.

Same as Carvanna. Drive out the competition before you flip the car around (no pun intended etc.) and turn on the money machine. Run in the black for as long as you can, forcing others out of the game (taxi drivers, bunch of small time used car lots, etc). Once the competition is a lot smaller/only big businesses, flip your strategy and start raking in the dough with a lot less competition to deal with. Big car lots and other ride shares don't give a rip because it's mutually beneficial, drives out the small dogs in the industry so they don't have to deal with them.

Same as why you see fast food and pharmacies in groups. One company did research that said "It makes sense based on population/income whatever to make a Burger King at 1 Main St. in Springfield, USA". McDonald's sees a BK pop up, figures "If there's enough business for them, might as well be enough business for us too!" etc etc. Meanwhile Sandy's Burger Stand is removed from the economy, Sandy and her people end up working for either the new McDonald's or the new BK, so suddenly they have less competition in sales but more competition in talent pool, so they can offer less.

Rinse, repeat, profit. Right now Uber, Lyft, Etc are at the "build it" stage, once they force the taxi drivers and competition out of those positions, and into their own companies, and eventually once the competition is gone and everyone has nowhere else to go, suddenly the cost of chicken patties doubles

I only buy brisket 100% of the time. I don't eat much red meat, brisket comes in 10+ lb cuts at the smallest. So. I end up buying it every so often and it's enough. Ribs, turkey, sausage, that's all me :) I mayyyy be in the smoking thread too :p

Yeah no, today's thursday, I guess. But somehow my "Today is friday" strategy has paid off, so, luck on that one I guess.

Look into doing pulled beef with chuck roast -- it's also a good base for ropa vieja.

I have done that. It’s good, but still. Just not a red meat kind of person. Chuck roast is the biggest I’ll buy because my wife is a vegan and I don’t eat it. If I do a chuck I usually end up needing to freeze half before it goes off on me.

the south is a laid back place, but they take two things very seriously. The war, and their barbecue.

the amount of IL plates I see around nashville is absurd. My roommate that just moved in is from there too. Everyone's running away from their stupid governments and high taxes.

Hopefully they don't keep voting for the same govt and high taxes in your area that made them leave their area.

I'm having a hard time figuring out if the people moving here are going to do that. It's probably pretty close though. If I ever have a discussion with them, I usually make it a point to bring that up and tell them the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

happened to Austin. Bunch of people moved to a progressive Texas town from California. Then voted and made all the changes to make it California without the taxes. But then it became a hot spot so the taxes are way up. We’re looking to move there from the northeast but will definitely be renting and may end up in DFW long term instead. Maybe San An. Didn’t see a city I didn’t want to live in when I was going through Texas.

Not sure what happened but my ZSAN I’ve been playing with popped 19% after hours. Been buying and selling it when it was below $0.90 and selling above $1. Got back in just in time the other day. Something about some migraine medicine it is putting into production.
