Unfortunately life has its priorities. Family 1st, home 2nd, Tacoma 3Rd and toys last. Later on in life all those toys we spent all our money on just end up being stuff. :notsure:

You should be OK but to be safe use a drill stop. You only need about a 1/4" to break through. A piece of electrical tape wrapped around the drill bit will work in a pinch.

Use a sharp drill and avoid using too much pressure for a clean hole or you'll end up with a bunch of loose fibers around the hole.

Also if you ever need to plug a hole there is a seller on ebay "dangoodbuy" that has hole plugs, end caps and other items to give your projects a finished look or to cover any hole you no longer need. Worth checking out.

    Nice. Thanks for the advice:thumbsup:
I won’t lie though, I’m a little disappointed you didn’t tell me to use some rivet nuts to install:D

Yeah man, I feel your pain. I'm a shooter too, constantly having to buy powder, bullets, primers, match fee's. Just bought a Wiebad pump pillow and another taco bag. YIKES!:spending:

I didn't have the Tacoma a week and I found out about OVTune and went online that night and found someone selling a flash kit. Boom. There goes another $800 between flash kit and license. Clazzio covers coming, a full set of skid plates from https://www.okexpedition.ca/2016current-toyota-tacoma. Such a deal, saved $500 over buying new, so had to do that.

    I think I have Tacoma fever. o_O

I think you're on track with a expanding wingnut and a spacer should mount nicely. I love those Molle racks, looks great.

Cute! You got me! But I like it.
On that note a rivet nut tool is the one tool you never knew you needed until you use it.
FYI .010 - .015 hole size over the minor diameter of the rivet nut is about optimum for a good grip.
Most useful tool you'll find for mounting things in your Tacoma bed.
Rivet Nuts blow Jack Nuts out of the water for a secure mount.

The only reason I'm going with OV Tune is because I found a person on here who will do it for a fraction of the price. I feel for $800 the truck drives good enough, but for $250 I feel I can justify it lol.

Sadly that Canadian dollar added a good chunk, and my impatience probably worth another Hundy.

In photo, right hand side at the end of the lower tie bar. Driver side of vehicle. I may have an idea of what caused it. Possibly, I could have potentially caused stress in area when installing the polyurethane bushings.

Either that or local chapters of Tacoma Anonymous. They could give out coins.
Wait, we already have Tacoma coins. o_O

Wonder when the next coin comes out?

I know a guy that spilled oil based paint in his tundra. He dumps a gallon of paint thinner to try to clean it but instead that creates a stream and moves toward the front of the truck :rofl:

You might want to try drilling a small hole at the end of each Crack to keep it from spreading further.

Welcome to the forum Mary! There is a great debate about chrome here while I have been trying to eliminate chrome there are plenty of folks who like it. I’m not sure there is a product that would work to your liking but I’m sure there is someone on here that can help you out! So many options out there to customize these trucks.
