Crazy how much prices have fluctuated in the last 3 months. I bought mine during the big covid sale and got my 20 trd off-road premium dclb with jbl/tech package, overlays, sill guards and Toyota platinum warranty for 39300. After tax title license and finance charge at 1.9% was 43200. Same truck today can’t be had for less than 43 before all the adds and finance crap. Unreal.

If it makes sense to *you* to buy it now, then do it. I originally planned-on buying a new truck in the Fall but I pushed that up to April when COVID hit because I wanted a very specific model (OR with a MT) which in normal times is hard to find. With all the production shutting-down I feared (rightly so) that finding the exact truck I wanted later in the year would be impossible. At the time I got a lot of push-back for my decision from members of my family (they couldn't believe that I would actually enter a Dealership without wearing a Haz-Mat suit), from my friends who thought the world was ending, from a co-worker who used to be a Toyota Salesman who promised me that if I just waited another month I could get the same truck for thousands less and from my GF who predicted (accurately I might add) that buying a brand-new truck then having to leave it on the street in front of my house every night because it won't fit in my driveway would piss me off (which it does, in other news I've moved my plans to expand my garage up a little).

In the end, it was my money and my decision to buy my truck. I weighed my options (my finances, my job, my health) and made the decision to buy when I did (April 2nd). I got about 10% off the sticker price which made me feel good, plus I got the truck that I wanted, which it sounds like you will too.

I stopped in to my dealership today and talked to a salesman, he said that they only have 2 new tacos for sale right now. He was hot and bothered trying to get me to trade my truck for a 4 Runner, I was just getting a drain plug gasket from the parts department!

Boy I’m glad I got my new TRD OR for 13% off last November. These “deals” are rough.

I’m not in the market, so I don’t know what deals can be had. But I did see a thread on here about prices people were offered through Carvana on their trucks, and it was more than they paid new in some cases. So there is definitely a premium on them right now. If you can wait, you’ll probably find a better deal down the road. If not, and you are ok with the deal in front of you, go for it.

While i may have paid a bit more than a dc taco in stock on the lot before covid-19 ...had to order mine to get an access cab in a sr5 plus in quicksand along with a tonneau cover plus other add on's at the dealer. It appears in the end i got a really good truck, and that matters more to me.

Private party your ‘13 and get top dollar for it in this market. Then, take that premium you’re getting and apply it to the new truck. Inflated prices don’t hurt as much when you are selling your old truck at an inflated price too. Everybody wants a used Tacoma right now, you could probably sell it in a weekend.

In November I got my new 2019 Sport, MT, Access cab, 4WD, Tow pkg, weather mats, after negotiating for hours, drove away for $30,552 complete, for comparison. Note that there is no room for a second battery near the passenger-side firewall under the hood in the Sport, if this matters to you.

Fuck no. Renegotiate down another 10k. Msrp with that extra bs doesn't add value, that charge kit is maybe $10 at target fyi. Mine came with all that bs and I told them to remove from truck, along with a lot more. Idk how needy the market is right now but I wouldn't pay over 36k when I can get a 4.6 tundra with better mileage for same price.

Fyi, I paid 34.5k for my 18 offroad 4x4 6mt. Sticker was 44k. Be persistent.

Id wait 21's are'nt on the lots yet at least not by me and even more 20's are coming into dealers as there getting built from the virus backlog. Once the 21's start hitting lots 20 prices should go lower.
