In the market for a set of summer wheels and I'd really like to get a set of black TRD wheels. Probably a dumb question but they should fit a 2011 Tacoma Sport, correct? I have the stock 16's on there now and I plan on sticking with the 16's for this TRD set. Just looking for some kinda confirmation.. would break my heart to buy them only to find they'll clash with my calipers or something crazy like that. Thanks in advance!

If you have a sport you should have 17” from the factory

Yep. Well, this is embarrassing.. just measured them and they are, in fact, 17s. I have 265/70R16 tires on there and just assumed they were 16s because of that..

So... would 17" TRD wheels work just fine as well?

    What...? That's a 16 inch wheel.

If you're sticking with OEM wheels the 16 and 17 inch wheel should fit fine and clear your calipers unless you went with a big brake kit.

Right?? 265/70R16... the "16" is the rim size but I just took the tape measure across and sure as shit, they're 17s.. I'm all sorts of confused..

Yep, that’s definitely a TRD sport with TRD off road wheels.

These are the 17” wheels that originally came on your truck.

That makes sense then.. I bought the truck used about 5 years ago now. Just always assumed they were the stock wheels.
So, bare with me (I'm slow man ), if I'm looking for black TRD wheels that'll still fit these cooper tires, I'm shopping for 16's, right?

I believe the black TRD wheels you are looking at are 17” wheels. Your current tires will NOT fit (as they are 16” TRD off-road wheels (when your car was SUpposed to come with 17’s).

You will need to buy 265/65/17 or 265/70/17 (a slightly taller tire) tires for the new wheels.

If you want to keep your current tires, you might look at a set of 3rd gen tacoma TRD OFF road wheels, as they are 16”. I put a set of these on my 2011 sport (and there is a picture thread).

long story short. Most tacoma and 4 runner wheels from the last 15 years are interchangeable on the truck, and you just need to find tires to fit.
