Thanks for the recommendation man!!! Got mine yesterday. Very solid and it worked great. Had been looking at the Park Tool 5.2, but it only went up to 14Nm and it's twice the price. This is a solid option.

First flat of the year. I ride double downs, but don’t think even a full DH tire would have prevented this.

 

@eidsondesign had a similar failure last week.

Got a promotion at work and decided to treat myself to some carbon wheels. I went with hunt wheels. They had good reviews, lifetime warranty, and a very good price. Wife even convinced me to get the oil slick spokes; I'm still not sure that was a good choice. They should be arriving early September...!!!

I also picked up some time speciale 8 pedals. Got two rides on them. They definitely have more float and don't release as easily as spd. I'm having a hard time getting in to them though, might take a minute before I'm used to lining up the cleat. Not convinced they're better than spd yet.

 

Congrats on the promotion. As far as the Time pedals. I’ve never tried the 8’s as they are a combination clipless / platform pedal. I do have many years experience on the Time ATAC’s though. Should have the same function in the clipless department. To clip in just push down and it will clip in given your foot is in the right position. I’m sure it’s much easier on the ATAC’s finding that sweet spot to push down on. The platform probably hinders the sensation you feel with the ball of your foot to push it down and click in. Practice I suppose.

Congrats on the promo! Those Hunt wheels are sweet, they were strong contenders for me when I was deciding on what Carbon hoops I wanted.

Why would you expect the Time to be better than the most popular pedal on the market though?
