I picked this vehicle tarp up for the Colorado trip this year. 2 years ago I spent 6 hours in rain gear while at camp (not fun), and last year we got afternoon drizzle for a couple hours. I considered a 10x10 canopy but too clunky and takes 2 ppl to get up. After one set-up, I'm pretty impressed. Took about 10 minutes with this simple 2 pole config. It has multiple options for set-up, and plenty of places to stake it out for wind and rain. Got great reviews. I have the All Pro bed racks, so my tent rides cab height, so an awning wouldn't work and wouldn't provide near the space this does. I worked it in under the tent fly so it will shed rain...not perfected yet, but with some minor adjusting it'll work great. Pretty happy with it, and tons of space underneath to hang out, cook, etc. It will light up nicely with Tom Bodett.

I prefer the 4Runners but am also looking at LC and Sequoias. Most of the LC and Sequoias I'm seeing are priced a little higher and I'd have to finance at least a portion of it. Trying to avoid that.

I have a couple of areas on my frame that I repainted because I did welding in those areas so I get it. However, I used a wire brush to get it down to bare metal, then primed and painted. It's evident that this was not done on either of the two I've been sent pictures of.

More info, please. I've been looking at this one https://www.weeroll.com/adventure-trailer but it's a looong way away and more than I want to spend.

Really like that one! We had a local welding shop build what ya see. Going to have him build a box on it then a rack for the RTT. We are gonna put a 20 gallon water tank in it. Hopefully have it done before cooler weather.

If you can spring for the dexter torsion axles, you'll be glad ya did. They're pricey but eliminates axle, gives you more clearance and makes each side independent. One i built a few years ago had leaf springs and I hated them. It wasn't an offroad, it was a teardrop, but the leafs clanked and rattled, and made it way bouncier than it could have been. Sure was comfy to sleep in.

That is looking good. Are any of those momentary switches? Be cool if you could wire a ‘winch in’ into one if that option was available. Pretty handy in a self recovery.

I’m still in the process of getting rid of stuff before the move. Anyone interested in a nice tool box? I’m letting go of my 10 drawer Snap-on KTL1022 Master Series 54” box. I’ll sell it for $2,000. It’s in excellent condition, and cost $9.5k new. I need to reduce the number of tools I have and get a smaller box before we head out.

Reduce the number of tools? That’s like selling guns. Blasphemy!

I have tools that are only useful for a professional technician, and I haven’t done that in years. Downsizing a bit in my case makes sense. Then again I might sell some guns too so I guess I’m a blasphemer!

I worked Wednesday, got off at 4:30 and then drove to Webster, TX (south of Houston), arriving at the hotel around 1 am. Worked from the hotel yesterday, checked this 4Runner out, put down a deposit (they're doing some paint correction on front and rear bumpers), and drove back to Little Rock, getting home around 2 am.

    2007 Limited 4WD, V8 with 126k miles.

I did all of this in my '02 Civic that has a MT and 300k miles with no AC and cruise control that works when it feels like it. In a 33.5 hour period, 16.5 hours were spent in that car. I'm so tired of it right now that I can't even look at it. I am exhausted and if anyone else told me they were planning to do this I would have told them they're an idiot. But for some reason I thought it would be a good idea. Best part is we're visiting family this weekend so more driving! Woo!

If anyone sees any deals on gunmetal TRD wheels let me know. Wife is going to be pissed because now I'm shopping for this 4Runner instead of hers.

I really wish I had room for that.
