Hey Connecticut, our everything hurts

Been w/o electricity Tuesday to Friday am. Tree guys didn't need electricity & stuck to this job. Yes.
Mostly "before". 2 'saplings' gone, one evil nut tree started.

With poison ivy covering this tree I hadn't noticed it was dead. Cut the vine last year & this year it's obvious. Neighbors had kid swing hanging from this dead beast - ack. Lucky it's down before any accidents.

Trees almost all gone. Squirrels be looking for new home. I'm going to have to completely reimagine what the back yard is. Ground is ruined from trunk drops, trucks & chippers... But Everything I had dropped was in bad health - mostly from the uphill neighbor paving his yard & thus drowning them.

I liked my phone poll folly, but suddenly it seems pointless & in the way. Guess I'll ask the boss-man if he can pull it up?
Other neighbor (downhill), house is 'between' tenants, so they loaned me their driveway. Thank You!
Anyone looking for a 2 bed/1 bath house w/ a long 1 car garage & finished basement - next door (to right) is about to be put on market. Danbury near exit 4 / mall.

I use an antenna, get 30 channels. It's on my front porch roof. Haven't tried those stick in the window digital ones, but have heard they're okay to good.

 

I was thinking generator priority on the 1st day, but got past that. My house mostly runs on gas, so I had hot water, could cook, in winter would have heat. City water meant water worked too. If you have septic, a well, electric heat then I'd make generator a priority. My neighborhood is well trimmed along the lines & had few whole trees down, but lost power for 3 days because of issues along the feed route to get to us. Self dependent is definitely the way to go.

Anyone good with small motors?
I need to get the RV's Onan generator running & install it. Would have been a nice luxury to have had & would have saved me $150 in lost food.

 

it's a good lesson for young kids - learning how to deal well with disappointment. Teaching them fortitude.
Sorry it was for naught - I paid $3 gallon for gas vs. wait an hour at BJs for $1.99, so burning gas hurts right now.

 

Well pulled the trigger tonight and ordered wheels. Now to figure out what lift I want to get!!!

No power here either. Saying Tuesday at noon, according to the Eversource site.

I'll believe when I see it.

 

I was on the Tuesday list also.
I got power back last night. 96 hours

Under promise and over deliver...

I had to go tell two of neighbors that the power was back on so they'd shut their Gens down.

 

That's what I'm hoping for. Fingers crossed.

I don't think it will be as pronounced as others in the past have..many people are still worried about the future.

 

I think it depends if yous like it sweaty or in AC or any way you can get it... so it a flip of the coin.
