Yes Sir...i wasn't happy...so if you haven't checked it yet do it. I think at the factory it is all automated and calibration gets out of wack after so many units...sometimes I wish our Tacoma was made in Japan...maybe more diligent quality control...

I’m leaning towards 285s. You guys are right. I think it would look more aggressive than 265.

The Japanese are definitely more diligent. I used to manufacture engine breaks for the Japanese large truck market and I can tell you first hand they are pretty darn fussy. If they found just one out of spec they would return the WHOLE shipment.

Swapped out the red TRD lettering on my skid plate to better match the whole black and silver theme on the truck. I had to pull the skid plate off anyway to correct a dumbass thing 4 Wheel Parts did when they installed it. They removed the frame members, you know, those two pieces that have the two bolts that need to be removed for the install.

Anyway, they just handed them to me in a box when I picked up the truck and I was too pissed off to even argue with them about it, plus I could tell they were gonna make we wait to get it back on their lift so I had to do this at home with jack stands...laying on the ground.

Everything is back the way it should be now and I think the black lettering looks pretty good.

At least they gave you the parts back in a box. o_O
I can't tell you how many times in my life that I've had to repair, replace or fix something that I've paid someone to do. It's a shame that pride in workmanship seems to be in general following the path of the dinosaur.

In my experience with this lift and BFG KO2s, It depends on what you plan on doing with it.

If you are going to be on street, gravel roads, or maintained fire roads 100% and are going for a certain look, 285's will be fine without any crazy modifications IMO. You will most likely rub on the cab mount in reverse full lock and the rear portion of the inner fender liner when hitting any driveway with any speed. You'll also likely need wheel spacers as they will rub the stock upper and lower control arms. I ran Bora 1.25 inch spacers but you could probably get away with 1 to 1.25 inch and get the clearance you need.

If you plan on taking it on rougher roads and don't want to do any heavy modifications stick with 265/75s or 255/85 if you want the 33 height

I went down the rabbit hole not fully aware of what I was getting into. I have some pictures of where the 285/75 r16 tires on stock rims rubbed the cab mount in my media folder if you'd like to take a look.

I went to aftermarket UCAs as there was rubbing the UCAs and LCAs in tight turning as well as hitting any decent sized bump would be jarring, most all 285/75s are E rated. The UCAs allowed for better shock absorption, and less bump-steer. Another issue I had with the stock UCAs was the shock down travel was so long, the UCAs started to rub on the springs with articulation.

I've since removed the lift and when with an aftermarket coilover, the 3 inch lift didn't add much capability. You lower the diff 1 inch so no increased clearance over a two inch lift, the CV angles are a bit extreme, and the stock shocks are just not tuned to handle the extra weight of the E rated tires. I didn't like how it handled at all.

Just my experience. I don't know if I'd have bought the 285s if I knew how much modification it took to make it functional off road and comfortable on road.

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know about those guys and look forward to checking them out. It is not like we are in the West where there are tons of good shops. There is American Tire in Yonkers (I bought my Nittos from them and they are very nice). There is also a really good shop called Dedona in Yonkers as well. They look to be very good -- but mostly for high end show jeeps, etc.

I will check out the place in Peeksill ... it is a nice drive up the Hudson ... and I can always stop at the Peeksill Brewery after.

I have done my mirrors. It was my first go round with plastidip so I was hesitant to try the door handles.

Now that I see it done I feel better about trying my hand at it.

Those turned out great colonel, the Demon Brackets took a long time to ship and that was from Amazon.

Now I'm wondering how Silver Sky would look with black plastic covers.

    F'n perfectly!!!

I'm pleased with the shackles. The brackets show a delivery date of 14 August on Amazon but I ended up ordering directly from the manufacturer - they also had free shipping. Hopefully I'll get a shipment notice in the next day or so. Otherwise I may cancel and just reorder through Amazon....which is probably what I should have done to start with. o_O

    Is Liters that confusing?
I literally just bought a 1 liter coke bottle. Or those 2 liters for parties. And they have been around for as long as I can remember.

Apparently I also forgot Fahrenheit, but got Celsius down to a tee. (Lived in Japan for a while)

    Can't do Kilometers yet though.

    Here ya go.

A liter is a quart. One and a half kilometers (Actually 1.6) is a mile.
