Yea we are gonna get it done it’s just a little tricky. I didn’t notice until my uncle pointed out that it looked slanted. He took the measurements and sure enough it was slanted slightly.

Toyota did some crazy things man. The shape of it is weird as well how it’s not completely square underneath. It has that round edge in the center. Also what’s the deal with all the oddly shaped holes in it? There not all the same sizes.

Who knows. I’m still trying to figure out why they chose to make the frames different but the CM the same. Seems backwards and it would have reduced complexity by making all the frames the same and have custom CMs.

Yeah doesn’t make any sense. I can’t find any other differences in 2wd vs 4wd other than crossmember. Did they put reinforcements anywhere I wonder on the 4wd models?

Crossmember turned out better than I ever expected. Let my uncle do all the cuts and weld because he’s got 40 plus years of experience. He did a fantastic job!

Put in some work this weekend! About 80% done. Transmission lined up perfect. Crossmember couldn’t have been better.

Ran to a couple hiccups front driveshaft was too short needs to be extended by about 3 inches not sure why? @jowybyo

also running into some issues with the shifter staying on the transfer case need to figure out how I can get this connected in the right spot everything looks to be good in alignment but I can’t get the shifter to stay on to the transfer case my water doesn’t get hot enough to weld in to do quit so I got to figure something out.

What vehicle did the driveshaft come from? Sounds like your front driveshaft might have come from a manual transmission truck. The transmission is about 2-1/2” shorter so the driveshaft would be shorter too.

But also check that the slip joint is extended as far as possible.

Damn I didn’t know that sounds like it was the manual. Idk what it was because I got it from a junk yard that the guy had already stripped the whole truck.
