Took her to the track. Good day for our crew, density altitude was really tricky (sucked @4300') but for being trapped in the house for a while, it was good to get out.

While a lot of folks remove all of the chrome from these trucks I just thought the tailgate looked a little bare and since the V6 emblem is chrome I might as well do the tailgate letters.

Was going to remove my tailgate letters because the paint was coming off. Couldn't budge em. Removed the paint. Like em better and they match my grillIMG_20200809_124018.jpg

Finished welding up the giant drawer for my bed. Just need to clean up the welds, drill the holes for the slides and then drill the bed bolt holes. Its only going to be rated for around 150 lbs at this time, but I will add some more support to the tray later and upgrade the slides to a heavy duty set.

I've wondered why my truck is missing that. Seen it on lots of other Tacomas.

Put a soft topper on the Tacoma. MarksCustoms in Humble TX sewed some high strength magnets into the rear tailgate. Now the tailgate flap as a positive snap to it. Should help keep dust out of the bed.

The #5 is your friend when it comes to SAE to Meteric conversion. Examples: 13mm-5 equals 8/16's which equals 1/2". So subtract 5 from the Meteric size then the SAE size is now in 16th's. 10mm -5 = 5/16's. The other way: 9/16" plus #5 makes 14MM. 3/8" = 6/16 + 5 = 11MM. I just figured this out back when I was training to be an A&P mechanic.

Its on the SR5 but not the OR or Sport since there is a sticker on the side of the box that says the same. I prefer it in chrome on the tailgate.

Now I'm confused and Metric is our standard form of measurement above the 49th.

Ive been in the locksmith industry for 35 years. Its actually a locking key ring from Chicago Lock Co. Its not secured to anything in the bed, its just holding the 2 Trax together. Hit me up and I'll get you some info if you want.
