    Cost too much.

Even Toyota hates the 3rd Gens.

No one knows. It has been gone since 2019, I believe. Even the dealership doesn't know, but they have speculation based on certain electronic options. However they were able to put an entire plug on the passenger side of the bed so idk if I buy that argument.

Your guess is as good as ours, penny pinchers found a way to save money I'm guessing. Remeber the older 2nd gens also had pockets in the bed too at one point before those got nixed somewhere along the line during that gens life.

    Asking or complaining?
I doubt Toyota is listening here.
Personally; the passengers side is of little use, so no loss to me.
If it's of use to you, it doesn't seem like it would be real difficult to add.

OP is referring to the large one from the driver's side.

But if you don't have that 110 volt outlet you get a large storage compartment on the right. Non TRD models don't have the outlet.

My dad's 2011 access cab has the outlet and small box on the right and large box on the left. He even has a little cubby forward of the rear wheels too.
My 2020 SR5 only a large right compartment.

Prior to 2019 you got the large and small w/outlet, prior to I think 2012 you also had the pockets up front.

Basically, the more I researched the 2020's, the more I was happy I decided to go with a 2017. Large cubby, no awkward looking chrome tail lights, GoPro mount from the factory...and a couple of other things I can't remember at the moment.

Because it only held a pair of work gloves. Too small for anything useful.

I wish it that the driver's-side cubby had been kept as an option, but even though it's not there I'm fine with it. I frequently haul one of my MC's in the back of my Taco and when I've arrived at where I'm going to be riding and un-load I just toss the straps on the floor in the back seat. If I end-up putting a shell on my truck I may miss the cubbies more then, but I doubt it.
