damn, that was a long day.


on the bright side, my headlights turned out great......burnt the shit out of my fingers though getting them back together while the sealant was still warm.
my camera's broken, but i'll get pictures of them with my roommates as soon as i can.


and on another topic....to anyone with an aftermarket bumper....

I had this really loud squeak/chirp sound every time i hit a bump. annoyed the hell out of me. i couldn't figure out what it was, thought it may have been a bad wheel bearing, brokend ball joint on the upper or lower arms, worn bushings on the upper or lower arms....nope

turns out somehow some sand/dirt got between where the bumper meets the frame, and the fram flex from hitting bump was making the horrible sound.
sollution: i dropped the bumper, cleaned both surfaces, and put a thin layer of grease on the frame where they come in contact.....sound is gone!

I would have never guessed it.

 

I doubt its a typo, missing have the grill, 83k miles, 4 banger. 12K is fair I think.

 

yeah, took me 3 months to figure it out. the idea just kinda hit me yesterday when i was doing the headlights.

i haven't heard this complaint from anyone else with an off road bumper, so i'm guessing maybe a couple of the bolts worked slightly loose, and that's how the crap got in there. so i'd recomend retorquing the 6 front bolts at least once, maybe abotu a month after installing the bumper

That to me seems like the 2nd owner didn't drive it much but that looks about right that that would be a mistake. Why would Toyota buy it then roll back the mileage then try to sell it as a certified? Plus I think it's really hard to roll back the mileage. I would think the whole computer would have to be replaced and then to drive 3000 miles in 2 days?

 

look at one of the 1st mileage things...it says 31k n then 3k

 

If you go in with that mindset then you will pay THEIR price. Don't you want to pay YOUR price? Everything is up for negotiation.

I should do that. I checked them with a wrench about a week later but haven't torqued them. I wouldn't even know what to torque it to.
