A friend of mine runs a glass replacement company. He said Chinese glass was 220 and pilkington was 270. 50 dollars isn’t much more so I did it. He didn’t even unplug the radar camera, just removed it from the bracket. The pilkington comes with new molding and mount for the mirror on it already. He did it while I was working and finished in 2 hrs.

It drives ok, no change in accelerating or braking. I do notice a little hum as I drive 60+ mph but I knew it was going to happen. I got the less aggressive tread tire. I’m just happy my tires don’t look like car tires anymore.

I'll be doing this in two weeks, my daughter is transferring to the University of Tennessee. I'm probably going to be taking a U-Haul as well.

Added a fuse block today. I've had some hurdles since I've never done anything like this before. The connectors were too big so the grommets I installed were too close for me to run the wires underneath. I also had to relocate the fog light relay box since I bought the lower mount from @paranoid56, should have gotten the higher one. But I got it all figured out!

And no comments on my super dirty engine ;). I'm afraid to clean it myself since I made the mistake once of doing that to my Jeep and something electrical must have gotten wet and it was a huge issue. Plus I drive on dirt roads almost daily. Trust me, I hate that it’s that bad.

Also, it looks like my battery needs some attention. That’s for another day!

Funny thing is that up in Canada we use a hybrid system. The lumber is sold in feet/inches...tires display rim in inches but my neighbor still talks Fahrenheit for temperatures in shade and Celsius in the sun...go figure:), but then down in the States you guys already use metric when comes to tools...and dudes in the illegal market use metric too...grams and kilos/kilograms :(

After years of eyeing it, and months of waiting (thanks COVID), I finally received and installed my Southern Style Offroad Slimline Bumper. Couldn't be happier. FYI - Word to the wise - Make sure you hook up all the winch wires BEFORE you mount it to the bumper and then the truck... you'll save yourself a huge headache and a few dozen cuss words. TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
Suggestion on running the wires to the fuse block: pull the grommets out, feed the wires underneath and through the grommet, then pop the grommets back into the holes.
Regarding washing the engine: all the important electronics should be waterproof protected on your Taco. I wash my engine bay at least 1x per month. I throw a pail of soapy water over it, brush of the road debris from the top of the engine and inside of the fenders, then spray off with a light sprinkling of the garden hose. then leave the hood open for the engine bay to air dry. I have never had an issue of washing the engine bay this way.

Very sharp eye. It is Dave, and back when that picture was taken, the flying club was renting them for $65/hour wet. I sure miss those days.
