only thing that bugs me on my truck is those creaky LCAs, spray with silicon, checked the torque on the cams, still creaks like a rusty barn door, I think the bushings are shot

    Lol right!
The 10-plys were on it when I bought it, by far the best peace of mind driving around on North Maine woods "roads".

I went from a 2007 TRD Offroad to a 2012 TRD Offroad and it was a huge difference, the 2012 is so much nicer. I had a manual and wanted an auto, so different reasons for the change. Got a 2012 that already had quite a few tasteful mods, that made a big difference too.

they are sweet, and they hold up surprisingly well to what I find myself driving through.

it doesn’t matter the story gets told around the campfire while eating s’mores, along with the story of the vanishing hitchhiker. Google vanishing hitchhiker and you’ll understand.

The more I think about it since your 2005 only has 126,000 miles on it and runs good, just keep it for a few more years and start putting the $$$ you’d make in payments in the bank. In a couple years you could then afford an even newer truck with less miles.

I decided to come back to my senses and stick with the 05. It'll be paid off in a few months and I don't think wifey will approve of dropping $$$ on upgrades if I bought the new truck. New coat of fluid film going on this week
    Thanks everyone!

About a year ago I bought an 06 with 126k miles two owners. Never been on a dirt road or towed anything. Genuine mall crawler I changed all the fluids, did a tuneup etc. it’s Double cab long wheel base. It did need a alternator but other than that it’s clean and tight and it’s paid for. It came out of Texas no rust.52FE7975-440F-47AC-A6DA-6840E467B406.jpg

your thinking what’s that scoop hood doing on that pre runner ? The original hood had some hail dents so I sourced a replacement and painted the front clip to match. Turned out nice and didn’t break the bank.

Good decision in keeping the 2005. The $$ you will saved with it paid off versus the added costs of the 2012, you can easily pay for the repair of this rumored gasket issue that may never happen.
