theres just no tacos or t4rs to go around here. hasnt been for a long while, and who knows when youll end up getting what you really want when they do start to trickle in. not saying theres a carvana here on the islands, but i probably wouldnt let it go and not have access to a truck to do truck things anyhow. kinda like having atleast 2 vehicles in my lineup.

There's quite a bit of Tacoma's trickling here, dealer low balled me with 31.5k offer even after i got a 33k offer from another dealer 15 minutes away, the manager would not budge. I wanted to check if they had a tacoma coming in with features I wanted and they only had 1 with led package / BSM-sonar coming in. at 40.5k msrp, would only go down to 38k after rebate. (6.2% off). Decided to sell to Carvana and hold out until the end of the year for a truck with the features that I want and not get taken to the cleaners. In the mean time ill be driving my Japanese Liteace Diesel as my daily driver, (Huge interior) it can't tow though.

Just completed the first part of the process on mine. 2016 TRD sport 4x4 double cab with 56K miles. I was offered $30,113, I paid $31,500 for it CPO in 2018. I'm in NC. I have no love relationship with mine, my passion is Rovers. It was just a tool for me and with that offer I couldn't pass it up.

I think that’s a great quote. I was about 39k OTD when I bought it.

Yeah mine was a 2k less than what I got it for. What I really like it the depreciation of the Taco’s thought. From Carvana I like the easy process.

I decided not to sell. The deal I was offered was great, more than I originally paid even, but if I were to buy a brand new one today, I would have to put down an extra 2-3k minimum because the MSRPs have gone up over the years. That plus, if you sell to Carvana and then later buy from a toyota dealer, you'll be repaying all the taxes on the full value of the new car. To utilize the trade benefit from carvana you would have to buy another (used) car from carvana (likely at a higher interest rate). To me tempted as I was, ultimately I decided that it wasn't worth it to me, but it is great that they are charging (and people are paying) these high prices for used tacomas. Hopefully all our resale values continue to draw a high premium :mudding:

itll probably continue like this until toyota reshores some of its inventory. i mean tacos and t4r always commanded nice resale, but having no new, or trickling taco inventory in pretty much all states doesnt help the fact for dealers, so they forced to come out the pocket.

My offer was about $4k less than what it would take for me to break even if I add all the payments I've made over 2 years to my outstanding balance. Definitely not worth it to me. And that's with the +$5k local market adjustment.

I will consider selling mine if/when the new tundras are announced. I probably should have just bought a 1/2 ton truck but I didn’t trust the twin turbo ecoboost or the cylinder deactivation of the Silverado Sierra. I do like the reliability of the 5.7 with the 6 speed in the tundra but figured a new model would be coming out in the next year or 3: so far I’m liking the Tacoma a lot though.

So Carvana is offering me about 3-4k more than anyone else for my truck..

I was gonna wait for the new Tundras to be announced to possibly trade in but this offer is tempting to get the profits and maybe get something else in the meantime to play around for a year or so since this inflated trade in offer won't be available forever..problem is that all other vehicles are overpriced including new tundras/tacomas.

Any ideas besides getting a super old toyota beater? I was considering a Tundra trade in from Carvana but they are overpriced.. Only other idea is finding someone and take over their Tundra lease only if it's a short amount of time like less than 20 months.. Have found some decent lease take over deals(around 350/month with no other fees)

Sold mine yesterday, 2018 trd sport, dcsb, 25k miles, 4x4 for $36,168. Almost seem like a scam. I paid $39,134 otd 3 years ago. Very easy process, they came, verified ownership, did a quick inspection, signed some papers, and I got my check. Holding out for a 2021 Tacoma. Good luck to all.
