C6E9B611-7904-4E02-91F7-8397B35C9679.jpg Today’s non ride welcomed a jump in the river. Too inviting at how hot it was at 98°. Funny, I haven’t stopped at this spot and jumped in for many years. When I was a teenager we used to ride tubes down the spillway. Everyone who did always ended up in the the drink at the bottom. Immediate tube flip as soon as you hit the bottom lip. Then it’s scramble for your life in the rapids as your body is slammed against the rocks. Plus, we made it even more dangerous by having a 10’ rope attached to the tube so it wouldn’t end up down river, kids. After taking a swim there today I don’t think I’d ride a tube down it now.

it’s late in the summer and way tame compared to early summer snow melt runoff from the high country.

So, I had to call nearly every Transition dealer in the entire country, but I finally found one in the exact color/size/build that I wanted. One week later, here she is.(Which is good, because current pre-orders are now looking at a December/January delivery )

Happy New Bike Day to me! :headbang:

2021 Transition Spur, Size Medium, X01 Build - I busted her cherry in the Huachuca Mountains today. She climbs and hops around like a damn billy goat. Fast as hell. Definitely a keeper!

yeah, I fell in love with it when I first saw it in Bentonville last month. My only problem now is choosing an accent color for replacement grips, pedals, etc. Gold, orange, brown, bronze.... can't decide. #firstworldproblems

Can any of you guys point Me In the right direction for a mounting system. I have a 6 foot bed. One where I can take off the wheel and lock with the front fork

or one to keep the wheel and roll up/on too, and keep the bike locked and up straight.

    thanks an advance.

My girlfriend is always “why don’t you marry that bike”.

Have I got some news for her.

I can’t recall this being discussed but has anyone used the WD40 bike products? I’d like to put together a specific set of cleaning/lube stuff for the bike that I don’t have yet. Only other brand I ever see is muc off...

I have a can of the bike lube from WD-40 that I use on my pedals sometime. I found it at a trailhead. Seems to work ok.

Anything you’d recommend? I’ve just been using this ol all purpose bike lube I got at academy one time, and some car wash to clean lol. Just wanting to try out bike specific stuff, but don’t want to pay for muc off

On the rare occasion that I strip down the drivetrain, I use the finish line degreaser. It's super high pressure so blows shit right off, but you will almost run through a can every other time you use it, comes out quick.

Lube kinda depends on your local climate. I used Phil wood tenacious oil when I lived in Oregon. Since moving to Utah I switched to muc off dry lube and it's been working nicely.

For grease, I just have a tub of park tools lard.

Yeah I figure an all purpose lube for me here. Some days it’s dry and dusty, some days it’s wet and a bit muddy.

I used to keep Phil woods grease on hand, but then I got cheap and just bought the park tools stuff.

Frankly these days, I would only buy components from Shimano or SRAM. I'm sure there are others out there probably worth buying, but I know what I'm getting those two, and they are excellent.

For the price of some of this stuff I'm going to give these products a shot:

    Finish Line Bike Wash
    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B001GCER7S/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

WD40 All Conditions Lube and also Degreaser
    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0183G40AI/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1

    Park Tool Grease
    https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NVCI0Q/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=A386IER85LFQA&psc=1

I want to take out and clean my bottom bracket up, moreso than just a wash from the outside. The guys I rode in NC with me remember how it looked, so I want to see the inside conditions.

Is there any other "bike care" item I am missing?
