If you sell it for close what the realtor estimate is, holy shiitttttt...you're gonna cash out like a mofo.

Too bad the school district is complete shit where you live.

    Moving to Asheville?

I'm hoping to do a little better than that actually. Have a close comp that sold at $295 a square foot and we are 1) 200 ft bigger 2) fenced in back yard 3) have the two car garage with unfinished apartment overhead. The garage alone I'm gonna value at $100k+.

Actually thinking about moving out your way. Holly wants to be on the water so looking for a place on Lake Norman, Wylie or the Catwaba River.

    Hell yea.

That's why we want to be closer to Denver...better schools for the girls and closer to the water.

The first house we tried to buy back in 2016 we were 1/8mi from a boat landing in Sherrills Ford, it would have been perfect, but it fell through thanks to Wells Fargo.

We are hoping to list our house come next spring-ish. That's why I fixed so much and upgraded things while I didn't have a job, there was plenty of time to get it done rather than rushing to get it done prior to listing.

We found one in Sherrills ford the other day and really thought about making an offer. Pretty far out there though, we still need to be reasonably close to Charlotte.

I lived in Sparta for almost 20 years. I wish I had a $$ for every time I've been in that Food Lion.
And from the looks of that picture, can't really tell much difference. :D

make sure you look at Stanley, NC as well...there is a small section of the 28164 zip code that borders 16/73 area, not sure if it extends to the lake or not tho.

I found a bunch of places in Denver we both like, the problem is that I have been "jobless" for almost 8 months this year, so getting a mortgage would probably not be possible. We can afford ~$400k

Well if you are looking to move spring of next year you should have a decent enough job history to qualify right?

yeah, 6mo of job history should be plenty. hopefully the market stays strong until then. the election has me worried how the market will go...could be really good or really bad.

it's been strong for the last 5 years here, not sure how much longer it can be sustained to be honest.

I am thinking as long as you have land it isn’t that much of a worry. All those New Yorkers want to move out of the city and be away from all the mess.

Our house in Concord has appreciated quite a bit and the area just keeps getting more congested. We’ve considered moving further out away from Charlotte but aside from Salisbury the prices right now are just insane but those interest rates are tempting.
