Found an ARE shell with an AluRack and tool boxes on one side (Win-door on the other side) for $500 close to the beach in Florida.. So i decided to upgrade from my modified-to-fit Gen 1 aluminum shell to something a little more aesthetically pleasing..

It being close to the beach (4 hour drive), it was easy to talk my wife into a beach day! It helped with the negotiation of letting me buy it too.. :D

BRM just doesn't photograph well. This color looks a lot better in person. I usually filter mine a bit. It makes it look closer to what my eye sees. Nice rack!

Looks great! I ordered this rack too. Do you mind clarifying what you modified - did you enlarge the rack mount itself or the slots on the track system? Thanks

I can tell that I am older than both of you. I got my commercial pilot license in 1972 and the Cessna 150 was only $13 wet at that time. I tried to build up some hours to fly for the airlines but they were not hiring then so I joined the Navy. The first plane that I flew was the T34B in the Navy flight school. Finally, I progressed to the P3 which I flew for 20 years and retired. My father, who is still alive, was a Navy pilot in WWII and flew the B2C. Tacoma World has an aviation thread that both of you might be interested in. A lot of pilots posting there with a lot of nice pics. The link is below. To keep this on topic, my little project has hit a small snag and I have to take one of the heads back to the machine shop.

I'm using a Maxshine M8S. to do this i used a combonation of lake country pads. mostly blue and pink during first stage of polishing with meguiars 105. blue on the heavier scratched areas. I finished with a black finish pad and menzerna super finish.

Well that sucks, I'm DoD as well but with enough separation from our HQ that we can use FF.

Thanks...I'm pretty much ready to pull the trigger on one. I'm already using a ceramic coating so I know how I want to finish the truck once I do a paint correction. It's already got a killer shine to it so I am looking forward to seeing it after I do a meticulous paint correction.

It's on an exemption-only basis here in the VA for Windows systems but approved on those rare Unix systems that have an external connection.

Our issue with FF is in the patch testing cycle - it releases updates at a significantly faster rate than everyone else and we can't test it fast enough. As soon as one release is approved for install, there are already Nessus findings on it and we're receiving the next patch.

    It's nuts.

I used to attend the Huey flight simulator down at the Bell plant in Arlington, Texas, annually. It was an amazing sim, full ride realism, which sometimes made people get sick. It was an amazing tool to try new things or recovery methods that you would never consider doing in the real aircraft.

Seems like many of us yearn for the old days. I've always found it fascinating how people with similar life experiences and hobbies seem to gravitate together. For example, our love of these trucks. Look how many of us have similar backgrounds and tastes.

Anyway, you've dated yourself, colonel! While you were at Fort Sill in 80-83 I was still in High School. :D

1992 was a big year for me. I attended under-water egress training in Pensacola, SERE school in Spokane, then Helicopter flight school in Kirtland AFB New Mexico...after that I went on to my first flying duty assignment which was in your neck of the woods, Andrews AFB in Maryland.
