My first check would be the actuator, it’s the common problem and you may have rattled it back into contact your last trip

It never left the driveway. I did park it in the street and got up on the curb and dropped down off of it hoping it might do something. I also tapped the transfer case slightly with a ball pen hammer but it never wanted to come out of 4lo until I got home last night. I got in to move it back in the driveway and it dropped right out of 4lo when I turned the knob

I’ve heard about firestone lifetime alignments but have no experience with them. Mine was way out of wack so I wanted to take it somewhere that was recommended and knew what they were doing. They charge by the hour and I them saw them working on my truck. It drives perfect now.

If you’re lifted I’d recommend you use a shop that deals with lifts.

I have it, got it when I was still stock. It can be hit or miss depending on location and tech doing the work. They did ok most of the time when I was stock but can still screw things up. I will typically go pay a better shop that knows what they are doing with lifted trucks for most of my alignments now.

The ones by me say they only do stock specs with the lifetime alignments or make up reasons why wont work on my truck. Most of the time I can get them to set the camber and toe to spec and leave my camber alone so I can take it somewhere else.

I could see FS giving you a hard time with a lifted 4x4. Tandem was great and super friendly, I’ll definitely use them again!

I even got a free sticker haha

I just took my truck last week to Goode’s in Rowlett and he has a shop nearby that does the alignment. I have no complaints on how it turned out. I’m not a stock truck either if it helps.

Tandem does great for alignments. I would use them more if it wasnt a 45+min drive for me.

So after getting the 4runner out of 4lo last night I decided to watch a few more videos of how to operate it... I’m used to my j-shifter in my truck lol.

Anyways it worked flawlessly today going in and out of 4lo and center transfer case lock. I’m thinking maybe it was in a bind because I had my foot on the brake when switching in and out of 4lo? Not sure but I’m definitely gonna start doing this every few weeks from now on.

Have any of y'all done the short overlanding trip that runs through the Texas Hill country and ends up in Fredericksburg? I'm looking at doing that with my wife over labor day and was curious how it was. Read about it here https://expeditionportal.com/overland-routes-the-texas-hill-country/ and thought it looked easy enough. Plan on camping out at some of the camp sites and ending up drinking in Fredericksburg at the end.

Just curious if anyone has done it and if its worth doing. I havent done real overlanding trip in the taco before and I've always wanted too. This seems like a pretty straight forward easy start.
