Nice dude! that's quite the install time, but it is what it is, you gotta basically remove the whole LCA right, so you dont catch the bushings on fire. Did you replace the bushings too?

I need to beef up the front end, I was also thinking about the spindle gusset, and finish up the cab mount chop all in one. Does your friend take friends of friends that are internet buddies haha

 

worked it really slow going back and forth,didn’t get em too hot. Lol, Internet buddy is a no go. I asked about doing the rear hangers and he changed the subject real quick.

 

haha no worries, I probably call up an off road shop, bring them all the parts and have them get to welding. Or go to Snell's house and pay him

 

Lol, good idea it’s not something you can really get into with a grinder and clean up the ugly once it’s welded up. I did my cmc but that was a little different and the grinder was my best friend.

 

Right! I just checked and looks like spindle gussets don't allow for a sway bar. I want to put my sway bar back on because ill be towing a trailer soon.

 

total chaos has spindle gussets that allow for sway bar. i have them on mine, but i did eventually remove the sway bar

When I get some time I’ll snap a pic of the little ear we had to trim off so the 3rd member can easily get out. It’s pretty tight looking, like maybe it would clear but getting at one bolt would be a mofo. Way easier to trim it and be safe.

 

Oh alright! back on the table then. Ill have to find those ones, so i have the option for a sway bar. I want the sway bar for towing, but not for off roading. I havent had a sway bar since i installed my Icons back in 2015, so well see how it works out. Pretty sure i have to take off my front plate bumper and add the spacers that came with my icons.

 

i towed a packed out 2015 rav4 on a uhaul trailer from colorado to washington with no sway bar and 700lb springs on my icons. other than some snow in wyoming, and the supercharger screaming most the time up mountain passes, it handled great

Good to know! I'm going to be towing a Jayco Jay Flight SLX 184BS Baja Edition upgraded with 190 watt solar panels. Should be around 4k loaded. I'm going to Troklift in Kent to have an Equalizer distribution/sway hitch installed once I get the trailer. I think 4.88 gears would really make a difference. Looking at upgrading the transmission cooler too. Maybe swap out the mirrors for some tow ones. All this is going to be cheaper then a new truck lol

 

How much $ for that trailer?

Yup its a single axle. I paid $19k! I'm pretty proud I actually at one point I had 2 different dealers competing to get the best price for me. I even got the dealer i bought it from to upgrade me to the 190 watt after market solar panels as opposed to the 100watt stock one.

 

4.88? How big are your tires? Sorry, I don't know your rig. Build Thread?

I wouldn't think you'd need to go THAT deep on gears to tow, unless I'm missing something (which is obviously very possible).

 

I'm running 34" BFG KM3s. Yeah I was thinking about 4.56 gears but then I talked to the guys at Nitro Gear and explained that I'll be towing a trailer and they suggested 4.88s to get me closer back to stock performance. Especially on the mountain passes.

What do you think?
