    ok so we got it working.. there was a fuse in the engine bay that blew.. fixed that and the radio turned on and did everything like it should.. paired my cell instantly.. pandora was playing then boop... speakers cut out.. put the stock unit back in and got the radio white noise then boop.. that cut out to.. we checked all the wires and they seem fine.. idk if there are any resistors anywhere? idk might have to go to a shop to figure that out.. but the unit works and is doing everything it should.. even with the stock unit i was having issues with what i thought was the bluetooth dropping.. pandora keeps playing just no sound coming out the speakers.. and it seems hit or miss.. it works then it doesnt.. what am i missing or what can i look at?

    UPDATE! been messing with it for a bit now.. it was weird i went to try the stock radio again and only plugged one wire plug in and the music turned on.. so i tired that on the android head unit and bam music started playing... plugged in the second plug that we thought was the speakers and it shut off the music.. unplugged it and it came back on lol.. so i guess i dont need that plug lol.. other then that the operating system, the opening and closing of apps, switching screens its flawless and quick, starts up in a few seconds. looks like it has a hell of a lot of stuff on it.. gonna take me a bit to figure it out... had one screen that i guess with the right connectors it will control the ac lol and other engine temp, speed ect..

    @theolee I tried this today. Maybe I just have short fingers but there is no way I could grasp the lock ring behind the trim to secure the USB cigarette port. I just bit the bullet and tore everything apart. It wasn't that bad actually...just time consuming.

    I bought the canbus harness off the Amazon link I posted earlier because I got tired of waiting for amazon/Iris to reply ..

    She finally did reply and said "you should contacted me first... " ......reallly???-_- ... whatever.. ill see if I can send the harness it came with and get a refund for the amount of the harness she would've charged me for, $60. For the record, the harness I purchased from amazon was cheaper than her price...

    Now onto the wife's 4runner with the T9 headunit

    The CANBUS harness you got from Amazon, was it plug and play? Did you have any left over plugs you didn't use?

    Yea, plug and play. Yes, there were a couple left over OEM plugs unused..

    Steering wheel control works. You just have to program each button to do what you want it to do, easily done once u got the headunit running (its a setting in the system)

    well the cluster f*ck of wiring this dude put behind the head unit came back and bit me in the ass.. when said it was workin before it was.. but only the fronts.. plug the rears in and it cuts out.. so i was thinking something in the rear speaker wiring was messed up.. took the door panels off and everything looked fine.. so it has to be something in the birds nest he has going on.. so i ordered a new radio harness for the truck.. going to cut all the crap out and put new plugs in.. and HOPEFULLY that will be the ticket lol.. i cant think of anything else it could be... u can see in one of the pix he has 1 wire spliced like 4 times with different gauge wires to.. new harness should be here in a few days so ill check back.20200810_194616.jpg 20200810_194501.jpg 20200810_185556.jpg 20200810_193941.jpg 20200810_193944.jpg Installation-Harness-HA-711761-39-detailed-image-2.jpg

    I remember reading a few people had "white noise" and either partially or completely resolved it by added a grounding wire.

    :confused::annoyed:
    I really wish we had an unlike button. The last owner really went to town with that rewiring huh? If you chop those wires you might lose sound to those after market tweeters but don't hold me to it.

    I'll look around for a full audio wire diagram. Maybe crutchfield has one.

    looks like it the wires were cut short how ever he had it with the subs and amps and extended the wires with a bunch of little wires lol.. the way the speakers are wired into the doors seem right.. theres just some messed up connection somewhere in there.. when the new harness comes in the mail i should be able to cut all that out and get it back to factory
