I just saw that on the hockey forums, I thought I would pass it along.

I was looking to see when the first round starts. It looks like a week or so at least.

Are they going to try and keep them all in the bubble the whole time?

 

Teams that are done are off the island. Everyone else stays bubble wrapped.

The bubble is actually pretty awesome. They have buses to golf courses that have been shut down just for the players. Same with restaurants. There is even a visiting procedure of some sort to see your family.

I agree, with the exchange rate and taxes, along with more limited endorsement opportunities, it’s hard for Canadian teams to get, and keep players. 27 years and counting since the cup came home to Canada...

 

I think it's the fans. I mean it's great to have the money and fan base but it's a lot easier to be a ghost in Tampa, Columbus, or even Boston than it is for the Canadian media to follow you around all day. Everything is over hyped and players have nothing but impossible expectations set before them here. It's a problem that I don't see ending soon.

 

and to be clear I'm not blaming that for a bad Leafs team. I am saying though that all things equal, the mental side of the game in US markets is a lot easier to control than up here. Players here get over hyped and over pressured.

Yeah, but the scores bar is quick and updates on the fly. I have espn/nhl, nhl.com, letsgokings.com cbs sport nhl page all bookmarked.
