Just searching the web for answers to my front strut/coil assembly

 

I’d just take it to a shop and have them do it for like 25 bucks.

 

Shit. I got quote $150 to have it done.

 

Auburn is highly over priced with all the money from the college kids parent's.

 

I didn't wanna hassle with it and paid dobinson to assemble hah

 

I hat new top hats at the house or I would have. I just couldn't justify spending money twice for those.

Yup I wish I hadn't bought the top hats separately. Live and learn. If I could find $25-$50 quotes, I'd jump all over it. That video of doing it while on the truck seemed like it was easy enough.

 

I have done that method many times. If done slowly it’s a very good way to do it and pretty safe. (The coil bucket, the shock itself, and the UCA are keeping the spring from flying) Just make sure you watch the shaft going into the top hat to make sure it doesn’t mess up the rubber

 

I have done it up to the spring rate of the OME 886 (690 I think). I couldn’t get Matt’s truck to compress the spring on his old Dobinsons coilovers that had a 720 or 730 lb spring

I got the 600lb springs I think

 

With 600 lb springs you should have no issue following that video.
