That works fine. It is very safe.

I like using my 3 clamp spring compressors, since I have a lift and this method doesn't work when a truck is on the lift.

 

The guys in the AL thread are saying just pay a shop $25 to do it. I got quoted $150 by a local shop here.

 

I guess you should go to another shop. I decent mechanic should be able to rebuild the coilovers in 30 minutes. It's all bench work. I'm not sure why they want $150. A dealership, maybe, but not an independent shop.

 

Yeah most around here are doing $150. Guess cause people are realizing how easy it is to put a lift on and costing them those hundreds of dollars they get for install.

No doubt. I've never driven a 4cyl, but I wouldn't imagine it would get away from him...…………….hell the 4.0 wouldn't really do it
