Trim level comparison

I am shopping recent years Tacomas - what Wiki says is 2016 and newer / Gen 3 / N300.
Is there a easy to compare chart of trim levels for these?

If it helps, so far I know I need:
6cyl
4wd
automatic trans
dbl cab
power driver seat

Anything electronic, any electronic improvements, especially on the interior do not excite me.

 

Spend some time on Toyota.com building different models. You can compare them side by side. SR5 and TRD off road are good trims to start with.

Could also start with SR but then you don't get
Power drivers seat
Intermittent wipers
Fog lights
Remote keyless entry
You get a 7" screen radio vs 8"

The SR is more basic.

I'd recommend the SR5 v6 double cab if you want some nice features but nothing crazy. The SR5 has all that above. That's what I bought. I wanted something with all the usual convince features but didn't need push to start, auto ac and crawl control

What is your goal with the truck? If you don't plan on off roading, or even only light off roading, different trims will have different options for you.

As a starter, only 2020+ models have electric driver's seat adjustment.

 

Any 16+ model can have those

That's the outlier. IIRC that didn't start till 2020.

In addition to year model, you may have to have a certain gee-whiz package to get the power seat.

Even though my info isn't definitive, someone will help clear that up. The main point is that the seat is the hardest thing to find of the specs you have listed.

 

Looking at the Brochure linked above that power seat is going to only be in a 2020 starting with the SR5 trim with a V6 engine only. the power seat should also come standard in the TRD and Limited trims too.

 

Lowest to highest how do the packages line up?

 

SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD OR, Limited, Pro

And keep in mind that the TRD Sport and TRD OR are so closely comparable, they could count as a dead tie really. A fully loaded Sport surpasses a low-equipped OR. Prices on those models are VERY comparable.

 

They also have the same exact MSRP if configured the same.

 

Exactly, you trade a few features and depending on the importance of those features will determine which of those two is higher for you. The pricing is identical (well factory pricing, regions may be willing to discount one or the other more).

 

Power drivers seat is only on 2020 SR5 V6 and higher trims. The rest of your requirements any trim SR or higher will have. (Have to get the V6 for DC and 4x4)
