Found an "abandoned" snow machine in the mountains last weekend. Surprised the owners haven't retrieved it yet.20200809_093638.jpg

There was a concrete slab with a chain link fence around it with some other framework about 50 yards away.

I found a full skeleton - 8 point buck, that someone made a perfect double lung shot (had to have had a great blood trail) that the yotes had eaten. I'm guessing a poacher shot it and then took off.

If it was just a skelton, how do you know it was a double lung shot?

I saw this at a camp site in northern Maine. I thought it was a little funny and weird.

Up in the peaks of Eugene mountains of Nevada we found an old abandoned gold mine, with a partial cabin intact somewhat, with an old fridge and cabinets inside. Road in there was tiny and very overgrown we used SXS's to go in. Once the gold mine played out they bottled mineral water there that came out of the goldmine. This was another gold mining expedition we were on, somewhere in one of the mountain ranges middle of nowhere Nevada, we found where two valleys met up in the peaks, both with running creeks, was an intact gold miners shack there, he had sunk a shaft in old gravels next to the creek maybe 30 feet deep. Working old gravels for fine gold was our best guess as our gold detectors found no nuggets in the area, yet evidence of a lot of mining over yrs. The shack was lined on inside ceiling with waxed cardboard, had shelves, and bed area with metal roof, was built against side of a cliff next to the creek. Again we found this using my Yamaha 700 Rhino, 4x4ing pretty heavy up one of the creeks. Probably was depression era miners. Camped in the shell in my Tacoma during the night on the creek I heard a mountain lion making noise in front of the truck. Remote area.

I towed my rhino in about 2 miles of bad 4x4 rds was no place to safely leave it, so took it all way to a area we could camp up near the creeks. From there we drove the Rhino up the creek looking at old mining activity. Heard later there are about 3 more cabins just like this on up the creek further. NO goodies. We had our gold detectors along. IMG_0320.jpg IMG_1976.jpg IMG_1977.jpg
