I would like input on various used Tacomas I see offered (seen elsewhere, not those on tacomaworld) just to get a feel for what are seen as desirable or important features of various sub-models, perhaps pricing discussions (if allowed).

So if allowed I will post ads I see and ask for your thoughts.

(please don't post here or pm me with 'I have a Tacoma for you' or 'where are you, I want to show my Tacoma to you' - I can see the shopping forum and will be checking that out.

    Thank you

Your other post says you need power seats, only 2020s have them.

I did not ask “to decide completely what (I) want” -I asked for real world opinions. I will decide what I want when the time comes.

    Here is what I said:
(OP)”I would like input on various used Tacomas I see offered.......just to get a feel for what are seen as desirable or important features of various sub-models........”

I can read ads, Carworld type blogs (largely dated and mostly biased) til I am blue, and still not get user-level info.

And, asking actual owners IS a form of research.

It is really a very old and childish internet tactic to attempt to kibosh someone else’s thread by proposing we dont talk about a reasonable subject; I thought we were past that about oh, 10 years ago.

May I suggest, that unstead of trying to derail other’s threads, you stay out of them.
If you are not going to be productive in my threads, please. put me on ignore.
    Thank you.

No budget, then I'd go new. Don't have to deal with sloppy seconds or left over seat farts.

I bet "Dave in Texas" is real fun at parties.

Your supposed "research" on tacomaworld should have yielded enough results to get "real world opinions" on different year tacomas and different issues. So what else do you want?

And that thing hanging off the front bumper is stupid. So there's that....

I'm totally happy with my MGM '17 Limited. Zero issues. 20-21 MPG. $37K is more than I paid in 2017 though with zero miles on it.

Decide what features you need/want, buy new. Done.
If a 3yr old truck @$37K is a consideration, buy new. Done.

    nailed it.

don’t show up and be a douche, OP, then expect us to play nice. There is MORE THAN ENOUGH info from a basic search to make your decision. There are plenty of “what tacoma should I buy?” threads for you to find out the differences of EVERY trim. Make your decision from there.

new will be your best option. If money is no issue, you will be able to get everything you want....including a warranty.

All wise ass comments aside, I think what OP is asking is general stuff. Like early 2nd gens from 2005 and some 2006 had head gasket issues in the V6 models. Kind of a big deal.. Or the frame rust issue that was taken care of (NOT talking about a little surface rust).

I have a 2nd gen so Im not up on to speed on 3rd gens as much. But honestly doenst seem like there have been many (if any) earth shattering issues. The first few years had some issues with how the transmission was programmed and people didnt like that. A fuel pump recall is still ongoing for some years I think. Maybe a few other things.

But honestly if you have "no limit" for a budget Id buy new. You can get whatever you want, and youll have a full warranty.

Helpful input is politefully and gratefully accepted; thank you to those contributing who so contributed. The info on new vs used is exactly what I am looking for.

To those wanting to talk about trucks on TW, sorry my few simple questions has brought out needless banter in others.

I have a 2017 Lmtd DblCab RWD. I do not need/want 4x4 or the Pro as I do not go off road to "play". I chose the Limited for the safety features that were included but not available or not as available on other trims. My final cost was about the same as they are listing the one you linked. However mine was purchased new in March of 17 with less than 100 miles on the clock and full warranty. I think they can do MUCH beter on the price and or extend full warranty to 5/60 for you at the least.

Mine was subject to and repaired under the rear diff recall. I have has silver vehicles previously and in FL wanted to avoid dark colors. It does a decent job of hiding "normal" road dirt so while it looks amazing clean it still looks good between washes. The DblCab was needed and has served me well with the pup, grandson, and general "stuff". It has towed multiple times and performed well, though MPG will suffer as expected. I dislike the OEM cover and got an Undercover Flex which is comparable to the BakFlip. These are lower profile and allow used of all but about 4 inches of bed without removal. The OEM does not. Overall I have few complaints and those are part of the design with mods most are overcome or eliminated.

Came from a 1st gen red prerunner which served me well but needed paint, tries, even the spare was the original and though never used was dry rotting and untrustworthy. Red paint (much as most darker or more vivid colors) seems to fade, show dirt and scratches more than lighter colors such as silver, white, and QS.

Good luck with your search and welcome to the empty wallet/modding club.
