Timing belt and heater tees done? If not have them do it before you buy it. Or do it yourself for a few hundred bucks and like 12 hours of your time. I really like the 4.7, it's super smooth. Pretty easy to work on too.

I thought my K02's I had on my FJ were decent. They were great offroad, and had decent snow and rain traction. But I also drove it like an old person on the road. I think I had 30K on them and they had around 70% tread left when I sold them to get mud tires.

That being said, I have the Falken AT3W on my landcruiser. I haven't offroaded much with them, but they did good when I have. But they have much better winter and rain traction than the K02's. Both E-rated.

Those Falkens seem to get high marks. I really haven't heard a lot of negative about them.

Once they figured out their balance issues and re did them they’ve been great. Good price too. It’s that or Toyo at for me. Wish the 3s were out when I got mine. Was a month early

I am curious about them enough to buy a set, but I paid $500 net for my Yokos. I wonder how many people do 60 mph on shale graded roads with them for their passenger tire. I think a lot of people run things on the street and never take them off-road and say how they are the best things ever. That being said, my friend with a 4R has had great luck with his C-rated KO2s.

If I end up actually buying tires and not just swapping them through Craigslist, I'm putting beads in the next set. The E-rated tires can be tough to keep balanced.

Haha. I shredded 2 e-rated duratracks last year on the Blanchette road in my F-150. I don't mind changing a tire, but doing it two nights before cleaning birds after a day of hunting was annoying.

Probably part of why their pricing has gone nuts in the last year or so. I put them on my truck in October of '19 for $120 per tire; to do it again today they'd be $155/tire.

    I don't bother with E load.

I do thousands of miles on trails, class 6s and Forrest roads every year.

My fishing trips alone are normally the highest risk with the shale filled paths to hit brooks at high elevation.

No tire is perfect, but I mean I'm out almost every other weekend with zero issues. If I need to use a full spare once every 4 years or so, still a much better trade off for the bricks that are E load.

I did learn that not all Load Range E tires are equal also. The last CL set I bought had a higher load index than my previous set. I found out they came off a 350, not a 250 (didn't know at the time, but apparently you can tell because the center caps stick out further to accommodate the different rear axle). They're still LR E, but load index 126 instead of 123 and they ride noticeably stiffer.

You deff use yours harder than I do, but I enjoy e rated tires. Towing less now that I live where I use to tow everything C hasn’t been bad around town. Haven’t taken the 1st gen into the woods yet

    Yeah it's ridiculous.

The ply isn't even a true ply rating anymore.

Trucks are kind of my thing. I don't talk about it much on TW because it as everyone knows it turns into a pissing match.

I've just got my views on equipment based on my experience. I drove maxed out half tons with a 600lb welder, 200lbs of fuel, and another 300 in tools + misc weight. I'd be right at +1200 lbs most days.

Even as a pipe welder going to the most effed up remote places, half the trucks weren't on e load and didn't have issues. They were our access trucks. They actually required performance to get there.

I'll never tell anyone what to run or how to spend their money. But I'll say with a pretty certain fact I'm top 3 in the New England section for most miles traveled on various terrain, with ease, and have had no issues with c load.

I have ran E load and they just sucked. Weight, balance, braking, actually grip between the same tires of different load ratings.

And then for those who wheel also can see the difference. Drop same tires of different load range to 18 psi and the C load is going to have about a square foot more contact surface.

Unless I was living out west and rock crawling daily and putting a massive side load directly on the sidewalls, I'll not be going to e load. D load for 34's is about my limit as of now.

Load range E and load range C are very noticeable on my truck. Even if theyre only 1lb off from each other for a taller tire
