I wouldn’t be as hesitant to pull him forward if you had a way to anchor Your truck down. Either with a another vehicle or a winch.

If it has a solid rear axel and a tow point at the front, you could cable/straps from a sturdy tree(s) to those points, keeping the cables as close to perpendicular to the car's centerline as possible, and then pull from the front or rear at a 45 degree angle up on to road. Sketchy, but it should work.

It pays to have a couple snatch blocks with appropriate rope and ground anchors. If you know how to use them you can move almost anything

They texted me last night saying they got the suburu! Only cost them $250 so it wasn’t too bad.

Glad the kid’s got his car back. Thanks again for the advice guys. Always good to hear other opinions.

Glad he got out. But like... how'd he get in that position in the first place?

He told me there was a large rock in the middle of the road (which they later moved) so he went to the side to avoid it and went a little too far over i guess.

That is cheap. When I rolled my truck, I paid $350 to a couple of guys to help me drag it back to my trailer. It was rolling and steerable but about 1-1.5 miles in over heavy terrain. That was 10 years ago.
