    None Yet. Brand New.
    Hey All,
My name is Austin, I just bought my very first Tacoma, it is a 2020 TRD Off-Road 4x4. I saved up enough cash to put a good size down payment on my first truck. This is actually my very first vehicle purchase that is 100% my own. I am reaching out to you all today because I need some awesome recommendations on a great build for my Tacoma. Here are the things that I want to be able to do with it.
-Overland the continental divide trail from Arizona to Montana
-Camp with a hard top RTT for 2 people and one dog
-Go fast down dirt roads without giving myself a concussion
-Be able to safely recover the vehicle if it gets stuck
    -Go on weekend adventures regularly
-But still drive the truck as my daily driver

I need some help picking out everything from Sliders, to Suspension, to what brand of RTT is most affordable.

I'm hoping to keep everything relatively affordable (relative to Tacoma builds) But still make this a very capable truck for my needs!

Thank you all so much, I am very excited to join this community!

2 years? Thats a lot of time you had to research your "build". I can't believe you're asking all you are. It's like you have no clue. My advice.. Do your own research and figure it out yourself because you will be on the continental divide and you should have intimate knowledge of your vehicle/mods in case shit hits the fan. I know, I know, fat chance though. So, I would say take it to a specialty 4x4 shop if I were you and tell them what you're dreaming of and bust out the wallet. You will get so many answers here on TW and it will eventually turn into 7 pages of people bickering about nonsense that has nothing to do with what you need.

    Welcome to TW.
Please drive your truck exactly the way it is for awhile. Take it off road. Get it stuck. Unstick it. Get a flat. Bump your head. Figure out the bed is too short. Or long.
Do this, and then you will know EXACTLY what your truck is capable of. Let me tell you this... going offroad or down a fast dirt road is 90% driver, 10% vehicle. Learn to drive off road and you will be surprised what a stock truck can do. Don't fall for the video hype. Do it yourself and learn.

Do you have $30,000 more to spend? Every little thing adds up and before you know it. You’re in too deep.

With a stock truck, nice tires, and a basic tent you can have plenty of fun. If this is your first truck I presume you have little to no off-road experience, so I'd start by just driving the truck stock. Your list of items you want realistically will far exceed what the downpayment of your truck was, but you should already know that if you have been searching for the past 2 years on this stuff...
