Isn't that what you don't do... Ive only actually offroaded once and fucked around in dirt a bunch more so I still don't know much about picking lines but I'd think you put your wheels on top of high shit

 

It's really just common sense for the most part. Gets trickier if you can't see or you're in a place where the wrong move could be catastrophic (cliff edge, etc) so you want a spotter to help guide you. Even with a spotter I always stop and walk harder sections so I have an idea of where to go, tire placement, etc.

 

What do you guys prefer for Jerry cans? I need to get a couple of cans for the bumper so it will look like I'm going somewhere.

 

I just have a couple of the common red ones like in that pic. I don't have a fancy place to carry them though, I just put them on either side of my tool bin at the front of the bed when I go on long trips. Run a strap across from bed hook to bed hook and through the handles of the cans so they don't jump out, tool bin keeps them from going side to side

 

Although in hindsight I do wish I had opted for the plastic Scepter containers instead...the metal ones scratch up the bed pretty good. I put a towel under them most times.

@StevenP would there be any benefit to running this on a 3rd Gen 4R if I'm running stock transfer case/etc?

Would it be even more beneficial to run dual case on Mid travel suspension? Or Long travel with the stock transfer case?

 

dual cases are for crawlers and hugely beneficial with the uber low range. Don't think a long travel rig would ever need duals, unless you planned on crawling too

 

I would love to have duals, especially with the manual trans...way less clutch riding going over obstacles

 

yep with duals I never had to work the clutch on any obstacle

 

Dual cases. Unless you primarily do high speed desert stuff

 

I have mostly everything purchased for the 4R.

I guess I've got room to make a big purchase if I really wanted to...
