I reciently purchased a 3” front and 2” back leveling kit. What’s the biggest tire I can go? My truck is all stock. I will be using my stock Tacoma rims. My current tire size is 265/70/17. please tell me your thoughts
I drive a 2015 4cyl 2wd Tacoma double cab. I Was going to go with the spindle lift. But I’m not dumping a grand into a spindle lift. Headstrong already gave me a quote for 900+. I’d rather throw a cheap leveling puck and tapered blocks and buy some nice tires.

I mean you can go bigger but you will rub and unless your ok with cutting up your truck then it might not be worth it just for the looks of having a bigger tire..

The limiting issue is keeping the stock wheels. You could go bigger with a different wheel with the correct offset and depending on how you use the truck could limit any trimming. Also with 3” up front without a uca you’re gonna have issues getting the alignment done correctly.

So if I keep stock rims. Upgrade tire to 265/70/17 AT and do the 3” leveling kit I will have issues with getting an alignment ?

Correct. Caster will be difficult to get into specs. More than likely you’ll be right at the lower end of the spec. Which can cause the truck to feel like it’s wandering on road when you drive. Some refer to as the truck feels “light” in the front end.

my alignment was within spec with stock ucas at 3 inches of lift up front. its not a necessary purchase.

Don't do the spacer (puck) lift. Look up "collapsed coilover" you'll see what i'm talking about.

    Like, so many.
I've had a spacer upfront for a couple of years and I take it offroad. It's been fine. I did that while I saved for a suspension lift.

It can be done. But each truck is different. I believe spec is 1.3-2.8so if he’s gets 1.3 it will drive like crap, if he can get 2.8 then probably ok. But yes it can be done. Most of us who put ucas on like higher caster because the truck handles so much better between 3.5-4.5

I’m not taking it off road. I just work on like 300 construction sites a year and need something to get through some mud occasionally

Proper tires will get you through mud, not a lift, especially with 2WD

I have Toto open country atIII on the way. They will be here Friday.
I just wanted to give the truck a little more height so I can actually use the step sides I installed. But if the 3” is going to be an issue I’ll just get a 2” or something else

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
I'm confused. Have you already bought parts or not?

Other than looks, do you actually 'need' a lift at all?

Keep in mind you have a 4 cyl 2wd which has different gearing than a 6 or a 4wd model. Taller tires change the final drive ratio. Do that too much and you'll feel more sluggish than it does today. Regearing is done by folks, but it's not cheap either.

I’ve already purchased the 3” puck and the 2” tapered block for the rear.
I can return it for something else. I just wanted to get some insight before installing
