I like being on a steep rock ledge or hill climb with the brake pedal to the floor and letting the clutch all the way out, it starts moving even with full brakes and then you release the brakes and crawl up.

I actually bought my duals after killing my truck at the top of a 50ft hill and rolling down it backwards and almost off another ledge at the bottom.

I guess the question is, does having a push button transfer case make a difference?

Specifically asking if it mates well or if I have to switch to a j shift

    fuck that would be terrifying.

I saw a video awhile back of a 1st gen T4R that stalled on a super steep climb, had his brake booster or something give out and went careening backward down the hill toward a ledge at the bottom. Somehow he got his brakes back close to the bottom and stopped in time. Shit like that is always in the back of my mind on steep ass hills lol.

    Thanks for the plug man.

I’m not sure, I want to say it’d work just fine since the trucks are so similar, but I just don’t know for certain.

They also make a single case version, but you’d have good reason to dual case with this hahaha.

But I think if you’re staying single case and just want protection there are lighter options out there, and you can just drill access holes through other skids for fills and drains. This thing is a monster, and I can’t imagine a rock doing any damage to it, but with that beef comes weight.

Skidrow Offroad makes a nice 3/16 steel tcase skid for 1st gen Tacos that's not big/bulky, I have it on my truck. The T4R version is probably similar if not the same

I'll have to text you later when I get home.

The LT gives me ideas and next thing you know I'm spending more money lol seriously though if I do anything more for the 4R, it should be a crawl box.

Just go Atlas, screw dual cases. Make that belly flat since the Atlas can be clocked too.

I've loved my Scepter brand gas cans. Had em for a decade or so and they've seen plenty of use and scrapes. Quality stuff.

Shoot, I'm afraid those are quite different. I think those are the home owner residential style ones right?
You know what, I think I read a couple years back that the standard Scepter mil spec can isn't available in land of the free anymore. I'll take a peek

No, I'll have someone nearby do it for me. I still don't have the 4Runner with me so I figured that I'd continue to gather all I want to get done

Yeah, this. Are you pulling your front and sending it to them or are they sending you one ready to go in an exchange? Or you just getting the elocker and having it done locally?
