Honestly us reloaders are having trouble finding stuff too. Primers are a hot ticket item right now, as is certain flavors of powder. Oddly enough Ive been able to find bullets as usual.

I'm pretty stocked up so I hadn't noticed. I did buy 1000 bullets for my subsonic Blackout loads recently, and it did take them longer than usual to come. I haven't bought primers in at least two or three years. They're pretty easy to stock up on, don't take up much space.

I shoot more large rifle than small which for some odd reason I have no trouble finding locally so Im good.

Small rifle and pistol primers are pretty much extinct near me.

Pretty much everywhere. I found some at a show price was $35 for 1,000. I called the vender today and now he wants $10 per 100 :der::jerkoff:

Ill bet he sells them. I saw a dude selling them on another forum for that price and people seemed to be buying them. Its more than I'll pay though. At the rate I shoot Im good for probably the next year and a half or so.

Yes but Reloading is cheaper in the long run than expensive mods to these trucks we all obsess over. Lucky for me, I stocked up on most of what I need for my reloading needs last year and the year before. Primers are the one thing we can't live without, and they always seem to vanish first.

9mm ammo is largely unavailable. Picked up a Ruger SR22, .22 LR to add another caliber to my range pistols. Nice, fun pistol. Ran 200 rounds through it with zero malfunctions. E9DA7E4B-6721-44F0-B9E4-CCE190E6259B.jpg 906DD886-08DA-4AA0-AC97-EEF721BA292F.jpg

I remember when Obama won his second Term and the Gun Shows went into overdrive on their pricing. I watched a vendor sell 7.62x39 ammo for double what I paid for it the year before. There was a huge crowd at his table, and people were hauling away crates of AK and 5.56 ammo on Hand Trucks. I remember when you went to Gun Shows to get some really good deals. Now days, their just as if not more that most retailers. The Days of finding a good deal seem few and far between.

2013ish was also around the time that cheap surplus ammo went away for good. No more $70 spam cans of Russian ammo, even the CMP sold out of 30-06 around then.

I'm a big fan of Windham Weaponry, I'd check out their .308 offerings and see if anything catches your eye, and won't deplete your wallet.

I absolutely love it. I have not hunted with it at this point but do use my Remington 700 in 308 for hunting. It is a tack drive and as accurate as anything I have had the pleasure to pull the trigger on at about half the price to the next closest competitor. It is a little hefty, but like you, I use it in a stationary platform. If you are using it at 100 yards then you definitely are not getting the full potential of the rifle itself. It has an extremely light trigger (which is adjustable) and is smooth and breaks like glass. I would never worry about missing my prey with it, if I was to take it hunting. I just like to have a dedicated hunting rifle as they do seem to get abused more than my competitions do. I have hit up to 800 yards so far (farthest range I have access to) with repeatable results. Good glass and shooting fundamentals will take you a long way with this rifle. I think you would be pleasantly supersized on how much you would enjoy shooting it.

Damn, at that price I'm sitting on almost $800 in small rifle primers alone.

I think it depends on what you are looking for. I find military surplus, surplus rifles, retro AR parts etc. At just about every show. Thing is you have to know what you are looking at/for. When it comes to normal stuff you can usually get better deals elsewhere.

My local gun show is overwhelmed with beef jerky, salsa, jewlrey, chinese tacticool AR parts, overpriced surplus stuff, and theres always that one guy who sells nothing but Nazi uniforms and medals/accessories.

And its like $20 to get in once parking is figured in.

I haven’t bought primers in quite a while and ended up needed to replenish my large pistol stash at the beginning of Covid . Paid $45 per 1000 and nearly shit when they rang my pile up . I’m sure it’s worse now

Fortunately we have several large venues near including Harrisburg and York. The smaller venues such as Carlisle (where the truck show is held) isn't really worth it in my opinion. The reality is surplus won't get any cheaper unless more is imported so its all up to what the buyer is willing to pay. I want to say one of my last trips I got a full colt BCG in the $250 price range. Lol The guy laughed me down when I tried to get him closer to $200. Same guy pulled out a colt Canada BCG I would have paid for but it was going into his own collection. Anyway I'm just saying it's all about what you are into. I could go on and on about the stuff I've purchased and passed up.
