I usually always have loud music on too but yeah it is super loud. I'll let you know what I decide regarding the muffler. Something about the same length-- can make it work. Appreciate the love-- super glad I got this truck. Stealthbox being made right now at JL--- Kicker amp already here. Also will be adding a small front lift with new control arms and swaybar spacers-- all coming soon of course. Eventually will upgrade to coil-overs but just something to clear 33's for now. Speaking of Metal... I can't wait till concerts come back. Let's goooo:muscleflexing:

No joke, put on the album Rust from Monolord and hit the freeway. You'll laugh your ass off. The tone goes in and out of tune, you get that warbble sound. Tripped me up the first time out.

OP, I would research an “auger muffler insert.” I have seen on TW folks having good luck inserting one of these in the 3” pipe before the muffler to tone down the mbrp

I have MBRP's dual exit catback exhaust.
Love the tone down low, but it droned pretty bad after 3k rpm, and sounded pretty ricey in the upper ranges.
I was okay with it, but felt bad for my passengers.

I then got two resonator exhaust tips, which toned down the drone and gave it a deeper sound through out the rpm range.

THEN I got URD's Ypipe, and it became a raspy nightmare.... Whole slew of problems with URD's Ypipe on clearance for a 2WD truck also.

Switched out the muffler portion with a Borla 1in2out.
Tested it before installing the two tailpipe ends. Without the exit tailpipes, it was DEEP and LOUD af. Like super deep, you could feel the bass.
I really liked it, BUT the drone was crazy, maybe cause all the sound was bouncIng and resonating under the bed of the truck.

Added the tailpipes with the resonator tips, and everything went back to "normal".
Not as heart stopping deep, and not crazy loud. It sound almost like the MBRP, but slightly deeper and smoother? Hard to explain. But there is also no more RASP!

I wonder if taking out the resonator tips would bring back some of that bass or just make it louder.

Nah, just normal TW troll activity.

I wonder if rust and dirt counts as "off road cred"? If so, I'm good.

Probably not though, as I don't have any marks or rock rash on my frame, control arms or "skid plate" ;)

I will check it out for sure---- Any idea which would fit the MBRP 3" pipe? I wonder if Summit or MBRP would know or have anything? Muffler swap wouldn't be hard either.

Makes sense--- I was looking at a Borla muffler "3 in 3" out to just replace the MBRP.... I agree with what you said about it being like annoying for passengers... I like it and don't mind. Makes me feel like a high school kid again when all I cared about were my cars and trucks.

any auger type insert with a 3" OD should fit the MBRP's 3" ID. an insert would be cheaper and easily reversed compared to a muffler swap

While not cheaper, but wouldn't a muffler swap be easier to install and reverse?

For the auger, even when it is 3" OD, you still have to hammer it in pretty good, taking it out ain't easy either.
I know, I bought one, thought it was the wrong size, returned and replaced, and got same thing again...

For the muffler, as long as it is same length as the original, just pop out pop in and tighten the clamps.
Switchout out my MBRP muffler for a Borla, and was a 30 minute job.
