I'm shocked there hasn't been any good info passed around here in this forum. Normally the new year vehicle upcoming prices, codes, colors, and options are leaked by someone.

im guessing for 2021 the taco will remain unchanged cause they just had a pretty nice update for 2020. then again...the t4r also got a nice update for 2020 and for 2021 they are getting led front end (lows and fogs right across the board, highs on pro limited and nightshade only), which im stoked about cause i was looking forward to a 2020 nightshade, but all this happened. now im projected at 2021 and all that goodness.

I doubt somebody looking now wants to wait 4 more years. Besides, the Gen 4 could look ugly and will probably have issues the first year.

Rumor has it, hybrid option or psbl main drivetrain and it will be all new since its riding on the new TNGA-F platform.

I'm going to pass on the hybrid unless it gives substantially a lot more MPG. Say at least 35 on highway. For 5 more MPG I might as well stay with a reg engine. Plus 2025 is damn far away. I'll be an old fuck by then.

That's because no one cares about any 2021 models especially the TRD PRO Trim (TUNDRA, 4RUNNER, & Sequoia) when 2022-2024 there will be a huge changed for all.

+ Covid doesnt help ++ Made in Mexico is also a bummer for the Tacos

You don't care because you already have one. the rest of us whom are in the market would like to know what's going on with it.

More like fall 2025, for new MY in 2026 (10 year cycle) but yes.

Hmm, gonna disagree, leaked documents from dealer meetings along with a prior post stating the same from an auto industry engineer/insider say different and state MY 2024, 2016-2020 (mid cycle refresh), 2020-2024, the 2nd gen was an odd ball, recession, no competition in the segment, etc., its traditionally not a 10 year cycle.

For those of us not new to Toyota and Tacoma, there is never huge press releases for non midcycle refreshes or redesigns, for example 2018 and 2019, most of the small changes noticed were upon them arriving to dealers in that fall of that upcoming year. 2021 is a year after the mid cycle refresh, so don't expect any major changes, they did a release for the new trims and updated PRO colors. Not sure why everyone is expecting some huge press release with every little update stating something like oh we deleted the bed cubby and added homelink, not gonna happen. Safe bet the truck is pretty unchanged. Norm for toyota, small incremental changes every year, mid cycle refresh, then redesign, repeat.

    First gen: 1995-2004
    Second gen: 2005-2015
    Third gen: 2016-?

The first two gens lasted 9/10 years. I'll give you that there was a lack of competition in the segment until now, but argue that even with the new additions to the market, the tacoma is still the sales leader by a huge margin, it's not even close. The tundra is scheduled to be updated soon (also a very long running generation) which will probably come in 2022. Given the investment needed to design, research, and get the supply chains in order to begin production of a new model, 2026 is much more likely. Idk why there is always such a mentality here that the fourth gen will come sooner, long generations is beneficial to all of us, keeps our resales up as well as helps Toyota's reputation of quality and reliability. We should all hope that the next gen won't come for a long time yet. Anyway it's all guessing at this point.

I get it and understand everything your saying, been here and in quite a few tacomas for quite some time, but you are arguing your feelings/thoughts in comparison to actual information posted from leaked regional dealer meetings stating a 2024 redesigned Tacoma, pictures and all, across various sources, it also indicated the 2022 new Tundra with 2021 Q4 release, and Sequoia, 4Runner, all on the new TGNA platform. All the new gens have probably already been in development. COVID and any global recession as result may change the Tacoma, but back in Jan, MY2024 was confirmed. Maybe @Carmaker1 can clarify better, who also gave us this info even before the leaked documents/pictures from meetings.

It's all conjecture anyway, COVID could easily push that another year

That does seem to be the case.

I'm looking to get a new Tacoma and I would really like the SR5 trim in Silver with the 4 cylinder 2.7L motor, AT, access cab and RWD. Dealer said that Toyota will not ship that configuration to this part of the USA - upstate NY/Rochester. I do not want 4WD or a 6 cylinder.

I can get the SR with the 2.7L 4 cyl, RWD, AT and access cab tho.

So that's what I ordered and want the SR Convenience Pkg that has Keyless Remote, etc. No other options including floor mats. I paid a $500 non refundable deposit. Says the build will probably start in early to mid September. I will pay MSRP and they will discount that about $625 and I hope the $1000 Toyota cash back is still effective when we make the deal.

I could not find anything close to what I want within 250 miles from home. About 98% of the Tacoma's around here are 4WD which I don't want.

I'm looking to replace my 14 year old '06 Tacoma that I got new. It has that 2.7L motor, access cab, RWD and manual transmission. I would keep driving it but I don't trust the clutch.

The slave cylinder failed at 48K and again at 104K. I'm at 136K right now. When it fails, there is no warning. The clutch goes to the floor and stays there. Gotta get towed. So I'm not sure if it's due to fail again soon. Probably not tho. At 104K when I had it repaired by a trusted local shop, they used better parts.

Yep, your right TacoBuffet, it's not like ordering a pizza.

    Jolly

Ironman Foamcell 3" lift, ARB dual compressor, GoPro mount, BadElf mount, Drive grab handle, RCI skids, Victory sliders, half rack, TuffStuff Alpha ll RTT, Dometic 75 Fridge, extra USB & Outlets
I am looking for a Green Pro or Quicksand TRD Off Road loaded out and both are hard to impossible to find. I am not planing on paying MSRP or over that and I don’t think the $1000 is enough of an incentive.

what one salesman’s told me was that in 2021 Quicksand is gone and Army Green is only for SR5 Trail Edition. So I am not sure what I will do, since the two colors I want are gone from the Pro & TRD Off Road

Can you get the bed cooler with any trim besides the new Trail Special Edition? Seems odd it’s a nice upgrade to a special edition based on a lower trim SR5 but you can’t get it on higher trim level vehicles like Pro
